Morning Usual Suspects! Just up early to order a few things in the Next mid season sale (they don't have much, but got a few things for Holly in size 3-6 months). Just going to wake her for a feed and nappy change now.

Really strong labour vibes to Harley, Squishy, Csh and Europa!
  • Congrats on the two recent births ladies well done, I wore a dress yesterday as it was quite nice weather and everyone commented on how pg i looked. They said i have suddenly bloomed! so not just fat now! but my mat jeans do cut into the bump a bit making me look like i just have some spare tyres so the dress made me look rounder. I don't think i will ever be completely round more pear shape as i do still go in at the waist a bit. it's really odd having a bump up top and a bump below lol

If you find something that works, let me know :p Would they induce you next week? My midwife was talking of letting me go for as long as possible before induction, which means for me the latest would be the 6th October so week after next.

My MW said she'd phone to book induction at next appointment 30/09 and it would be sometime in the seven days after that, just depends how busy they are.

Have tried curry and pineapple (3 in 1 night!) and nothing for me either x

I think I'm feeling brave enough to be added to the list now - 6th May for me please.

One of my staff members today came up to me, and I saw her size me up, then she put her hand on my tummy and asked was there something I wasnt telling them!!!

I'm only 7 weeks + 4 so really not showing much, although my trousers are starting to feel a bit tight so was quite taken a back! (and a bit chuffed as well!!) I've only told me assistant manager so far (coz she's had to take a lot of the heavy work off me!!) so didnt know what to say....just managed an embarrassed laugh!

Imagine how mortified I would have been if I was just getting fat lol

    YAY

Wow I cant believe we are into May already lol :)

Congrats Niki and Edward is a lovely name, a lovely weight as well :)

Labour Vibes to everyone who needs them :)

    CSH, harley, squishy,

have any of you considered Evening primrose oil applied to cervix, nipple stimulation (one at a time with warm flannel) or foods containing natural prostaglandins like lobster?

Well, the consultant said that at my appt, next tuesday, they would offer another sweep (if I want one this time) if not they would get me in upstairs into the labour ward for induction. I took that to mean fairly quickly, perhaps wed or thurs next week. But she wasn't actually specific about how long they would leave me.

Obviously I'd prefer to go naturally but she really put me off the sweep when she said she'd never done it before. And she wasn't very gently when poking bump so if it's someone other than her next week I might go for the sweep on the condition that if it doesn't work in 2/3 days then they induce.

I just want this baby now, and I want mum and dad to have their holiday too which is booked for 5 October and I know if I'm still in hospital (or only just home) they won't go which would be such a shame. It's only 4 days break and didn't cost them much if they were to lose it but they have been looking forward to it. We were all so convinced that this baby would be early none of us really considered that it might impact their break (which they booked the week before I told them about baby).

My next appointment is the same date, so they would be booking induction then as well.

(also had curry for tea last night - seems to be a theme) :rotfl:

I've tried a few things, but to be honest have no idea if they will work, as I would have thought you would need to be 'favourable' for them to work and as of my appointment on wednesday I'm not - still need to get this baby to 'drop' and start to engage  I didn't know lobster had natural prostaglandins though - shame I don't like it. Are there any other foods that do as well?

squishy, cheese, lamb and beef all are naturally high in CLA which forms prostaglandins in the body :)

He he, thanks for suggesting a way of getting prostaglandins that doesn't involve sex :rotfl: (off to investigate something cheaper than lobster - and preferably something already in the cupboard)

Unfortunately I don't think I can reach my cervix (it's enough of a stretch to reach down for a wash, never mind actually get inside:o)

And my poor nipples feel odd already, don't really fancy touching them either. They feel like they are cold and wet, even though they are not. Its quite uncomfortable, assume its prep for milk coming in or something.
