Aw Weezl what did they say?

    Amongst the gems were:

'how will you cope? How will we all cope?'

    'It'll be dreadfully hardwork'

    'I thought you'd been over-sensitive of late!'

    'I remain anxious about viability'

    and no congrats.

  • Hi All

I finally have some news! Will post a proper BS later but wanted to let you all know that our little cub, Elsa Kay, finally made an appearance on Sunday at 12.35 weighing 7lb 3.:j

My waters broke on Thu eve but no contractions so I ended up in hospital in the end. It was the hospital we wanted should we not be able to HB and they were, as we thought, amazing, so am not feeling at all disappointed that we didn't get our Plan A. At every stage they gave me just that little bit more time to react to the drugs so I wouldn't need further intervention - I can't praise them enough.

The birth went really well, and quickly, in the first phase but there were some problems in the second and she needed a bit of help getting breathing. This combined with the delay since the waters breaking meant we were kept in in special care while she received anti-bios, light therapy and tlc... the anti bios were just a precaution and yesterday the cultures came back clear so we didn't have to complete the course and we discharged today.

She's come on amazingly, particularly in the last 48 hours, and is feeding like a trooper (my boobs are so engorged it's agony :o) She generally charmed all the staff on the ward by being so totally chilled about all the fiddling round they have to do and responding so well

So we're now home, dazed and confused, but happy and just trying to adjust to our new lives.

That's about all my brain can come up with at the mo... will post more soon. Am sure there is lots of news to catch up on, and a few more sept births no doubt. I'll read back when I have some energy but congrats to everyone in the meantime!

Congrats ML, and welcome home to Elsa. Look forward to seeing the piccys and congrats on the date too, csh and I were both hoping for that one.

Now I really am top of the list!!! Probably going to be there for quite some time at this rate. Just had a curry and about to have pineapple for dessert again, but i'm not sure even a nuclear bomb could shift this little one.

Ah Weezl take no notice they'll get used to it. Mine said "well your life is ruined now" which is a bizarre thing to say considering it's been a couple of decades since I was a teenager lol! Did cross my mind that it was rather telling on how she felt when she had us all those years ago!

ML I was just going to ask if anyone had heard from you as was getting rather worried but yay congrats on little Elsa - so glad she made a quick recovery:j

EA - so pleased you heard LO! I must admit I talked myself out of getting a doppler as I knew I'd be in bits everytime I couldn't hear anything! Hopefully won't be long till you are getting real movements then you will have that reassurance too x
