Hehe, yeah i dont wish to cook my baby :)

Also, our babies can now hear us :D So get your singing voice on and sing to the baby :rotfl: I keep humming funkytown without realising it, so the poor baby will love that song! :D

And, how do you do your thai green curry? I'd love to do one for myself, OH hates curry :(

    x

I know my OH hates curry as well so I made him sweet and sour, I shall get the recepie of the bench (its on a scrap of paper lol)

    Ok:
    Chicken Breast
Rice Wine or Sherry 1 + 1/2 tablespoon(I just thought am I ging to be ok having this being pregnant?)
Fish Sauce (Nam Plam) or Soy Sauce 1 Tablespoon
    Lime Juice 1 Teaspoon
    Sugar 2 Teaspoons
Green (or red) curry paste 1 - 2 Tablespoons
    Coconut Milk 400ml
Finely Chopped Spring Onions 3 Tablespoons
    Finely Chopped Ginger 1 + 1/2 Tablespoon
    Salt and pepper

That actually serves 4 but I have it over 2 meals lol I like a lot of sauce

So cut your chicken into cubes
    Cook the chicken
Once the chicken is cooked put the rice on
Then you just add all the ingrediants to the chicken and simmer it away for however long it takes for the rice to cook

    Sooo simple :)

weezl - That sounds fab to me lol I want that as well lol

    YAY for Scarlett

I am going to have a luke warm to hot bath (but not too hot lol)

  • thanks for the salary calculator links nanc and jenny - think have worked out that once my smp kicks in after the 8 weeks I get at 100% pay, I'll basically be paying very little tax and NI. Lizzie - the HMRC calculator is brill, thanks for that too!

ooh, DP just got in a bit earlier than I thought after working late - better go and be a domestic goddess and have a hug and let him have a rub of his very wriggling son. back in a bit!

Still trying to catch up, but OMG at the 19lb baby! Scary thing is, it was 62cm long. Holly was 59cm long!!! No wonder I was getting continual kicks and her bum sticking out one side of me. There wasn't much room for her! You should see her long legs and feet. DH and I are only short too so not sure where she gets it from!

CB - Scarlett is a lovely name. Glad you picked something eventually!

Been out to Asda today to buy formula. Breastfeeding wasn't working out so we had some ready made stuff from the hospital, but had to go and buy some today, so just working it all out now. Also bought some nice pink sleepsuits etc so everyone can tell she is a girl! We have quite a few unused clothes for newborn though which doesn't fit her so they were a waste of money!

More labour vibes to Harley and Squishy. Has Csh been back on since this morning? Fingers crossed for her if not (kind of skim reading so may have missed posts).
  • I popped into Asda on the way home adn they have reduced the nappy bin and cartrdiges even more, so I got two more packs of cartridges for £5 (but at the same time was slightly annoyed that I bought them originally for £10 lol)

    Hi Fitzio

Congrats to you and your DH on Holly!

Jack seems long to me but the other MSE girls on the Parent Thread thought he was tiny!

I asked a load of questions about formula on the Parent Thread cos it's not as easy as I thought - you want me to dig them out?!

I just asked about the best way to make up feeds when out and about cos the water has to be such and such a temperature. It's a pain but I'm lucky that Jack doesn't mind cold milk!

Where does the time go?

and went on for a few pages cos I got lots of different opinions. I was making up each feed as he needed it but that was a huge pain! Now I make 3 bottles up at a time with boiling water, cool them quickly and pop them in the fridge. Then just pop them in some hot water to warm them up as and when I need them.

Thanks Glam. I knew you had asked about it as I was lurking a few weeks ago and read MM saying she made it up in advance etc. I completely agree that 1 bottle at a time seems ridiculous, esp when baby is crying for food and you are faffing about cooling it down etc. Will have a read over the link. Then planning on doing birth story, reading Jillie's BS, and then introducing myself on the parent thread so I can find out what's normal and what's not!
