I got a 1996 Clio for £210+ the Saxo lol. They're delivering it tomorrow but gave me the full logbook etc, it's not taxed though.

I can't believe i've been and bought another car in the dark lol - i bought the Saxo in the dark but was happy with it. Took a friend who gave it a going over with a torch and test drove it for me. It's a 5 door too - yay!

I'll be happy if i can get it through it's MOT for £100 to be honest, then it's still a bargain cos it's immaculate and has a stereo in it that are well expensive new.

SJ thanks for confirming that i was about to go off and check that was true cos i had a feeling i'd made it up hehe, so i can get it MOT'd as of 14th Nov according to the cert.

Oh and my DS seems much better today just has a bad cought so i bought him some cough medicine that he nearly vomited at cos it's like a black tar stuff and tastes/smells disgusting :eek:

Haven't got him any tamiflu though cos i don't think it's swine flu. I was just about to say i've got no symptoms but i've got a sore throat.

Sorry haven't caught up properly but labour vibes and hugs etc as appropriate, helen and Fidget, and anyone else in need of hugs!


edit- forgot to say i didn't just hand over the money and tell them to deliver it, i hgave him a £50 deposit and will pay the rest tomorrow lol, i've got all the paperwork!

Beeniecat - i am wishing you the best with the MOT. I have a nightmare story on that but i won't share incase i jinx anything. As long as your friend checked it out properly it should be ok.

Fernliebee - please please tell me what it is you have been using. I really need help as i feel awful.

lol ellie, i've only just recovered from the stress of Mondays MOT failure and i've just opted to put myself through it again in a few weeks - doh!

Gonna go to a different garage this time, one that isn't so strict but will still make sure it's roadworthy and safe

Beenie- just to say that if you do put it through the MOT early, if it fails the existing MOT is invalidated straight. You can't continue to drive it on the old MOT, IYSWIM.

I'm sure you won't be unlucky twice I knew nothing about cars when i got mine, it sat in the garage for 3yrs as i couldn't afford to get it fixed after the failed MOT. The person i took with me missed three big flaws, or rather didn't care much it now seems We had a chip on the windscreen, which he said would be fine (naive or what), it had an oil leak that went unnoticed completely and rattly brakes (still don't know what that means, lol). But when OH's dad saw it he had a right go at us and told us we'd wasted our money amd shouldn't have been so eager. So MOT ran out a month after we bought it and that was that £300 down the drain

I can't believe i just admitted all that I feel soooo stupid looking back at it.

But as i said, i was very naive and it was my first (and only :P ) car. I am sure no-one will make those mistakes, not as badly as i did.

I hope the car is fine though

Just to jump in and update list. Lexie was born on Sat, very unlike her mother as was early by 3 days.

Labour was quite quick, but got a bit dramatic, should try and do birth story quickly. Nearly had to have c-section as cord round her neck and contractions cut off her oxygen supply everytime. Had epidural but had to lie on left side so it didn't work evenly, generally bit of a mare, but she came out the correct way eventually.
