Helen - i am sorry for the bad day, it's understandable though. But i hope you get a good nights sleep and feel better tomorrow and maybe some lovely labour vibes for you for tomorrow too
but only if you want them of course! Good night hun! x x x
Three - not a new rule as far as i am aware, well 3.5yrs ago when i had madam. They were really strict at the hosp and i was in for 5 days so it was a pain if i needed the loo let alone a shower. Poor OH and my bro had to be around through the entirety of visiting hours EACH DAY as i was so fed up aloneBut yes i remember them having a go at women for going to the loo and leaving babys in the cot thingy.

MGEB i'm going back 9 years and 12 (OMG where does the time go). Hope they are better staffed now than they were then or i will just need to take baby to the loo with me or hope i get a private room:rolleyes:[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

Hiya all,
Just popped back as won't have time in the morning as got to be there for 8.30am. Getting a wee bit nervous now. Doesn't look like the sweep has started anything off, still getting blood show but no mucus.
I'm still convinced I've messed up somewhere with my packing too. I have 3 bags (one ward, one labour and one baby (last two are smallish)) does that sound excessive? I haven't put in any unneccessaries as far as I know.
Getting a really bad sore throat and headache so I'm hoping I'm not coming down with something just in time, trust me!
Hope your sister has a better day tomorrow and she does twice as good 32b, have a good night's sleep x
Helen, again sorry today has been horrid, the first one is always the worst. I had to get just a little bit drunk on my dad's anniversary for the first couple of years as I couldn't deal with it but it is much easier now. I'm sure it would've been even worse had it been my mum. Have a good sleep too and hopefully you will wake up to some signs of labour starting tomorrow. You never know there is still time for you to beat me to it! x
Thanks for the lists Always and GISI it is still good to see what other people have packed to reassure me I should be ok. Have no lip balm though so will go and dig some out, it's not like it takes up much room.
I hope I'll be able to sleep tonight and my head isn't full of what-ifs!
Take care everyone and hopefully there'll be a shiny new thread by the time I come back xx0 -
Evening
Swine Flu jab....I don't think I will get it, to be honest I think this flu I am still recovering from was probably swine flu...we all ended up getting it and it was/is awful, I have not felt that ill for as long as I can remember!
Helen, have a nice snuggle with your hubby and a lovely sleep, you will feel better in the morning.
In my local hospital it used to be that as long as you told the midwife on duty then she would keep an eye on the baby, but they never used to go and stand by the bed or abything...just wanted to be aware that you were leaving your bed area!!
I wish I new how far along I was, I think I will stick with 11wks on Friday until I get my dating scan done.....It is frustrating, but we have started telling people now and when they want to know how far along I am I don't know what to say, so I am going to go with that for now. So according to the nhs website and going by my lmp and using a 'normal' cycle length I am 10wks due date is 21st May 2010...although I do not have a normal cycle length, I am completely irregular...but at least it gives a guide for now!!
Still researching buggies:) I also need a bigger house and a bigger car!!!! but that can wait until either nearer the time or just after baby is born
Mel xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
OOoh Fidget best of luck for tomorrow. Sending labour vibes now so maybe you will go on your own first. Look forward to your announcement when you feel up to it. Will be thinking of you tomorrow xx0

Baby is moving loads today. Probably noticed more as I've not got up from bed or sofa all day. Quite a lot of kicking but tons of moving position cos bits go hard for a bit then go soft again. Can get slightly uncomfortable at times, anyone else find this?

Kindof - i am really warming to that travel set, would save us a fortune on the Buzz we want. It is deffinately with car seat right, i know that sounds stupid as its a travel set but you know have to ask? I need to test a hauck out to see what it is like but the MC's near us are tiny and a bit rubbish stock wise, may have to go back to Croydon and have a good look. How was the one you tested weight wise? I hope there will be one left on kiddicare for me if i like it.Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

Hmmm yeah doesn't seem to be on any more. Sure they'll repeat them all though, usually do. If I see any I'll let you know! Are you thinking of having a HB?0 -
At my hospital they had alarmed cots, so you turned a key when you left baby alone and if anyone picked him up the almighty alarm would go off. Only you and the midwife had a key to turn it off. Needless to say no one actually used this. We just asked the other mother to keep an eye.
I went in with three bags. Was there for a fortnight and ran out of baby stuff and spare clothes very quickly. Never touched the mummy stuff, like food drink, books, mags, music. I made hubby stay with me 24-7 too! Well, almost. I did let him go home to do the washing occasionally...:wall:0
