  • Morning girls,
Got the car seat base fitted over the weekend, was a little gutted that it could only sit in the middle of the back seat had wanted it at the end but ho hum. DD still not impressed about baby coming she says she will riding shotgun when baby comes lol!!
Good luck for those having scans today and labour vibes to everyone who wants them (am I awful for wanting them at 36+5?) seriously stretched out to the max lol baby was measusuring 5lb 2oz at growth scan at 34 weeks not massive I know but dd was born at 39 weeks and was only 5lb 9oz!! Had 3+ glucose in urine at that appointment too and 3+ at gp appointment last week, too late for gestational diabetes surely???

I dont think thats bad Pookie, Im 36+2 and have no idea where another 4 weeks growth will go. I feel huge and OH even said the other night 'where did all the extra skin come from?!' I could have killed him!

My parents are coming over in two weeks and I need to practice putting the car seat in their car then (we dont drive) otherwise we'll leave the hospital and not have a clue what to do with the seat.

Morning! Sending vibes to EA for her scan...admit that I will laugh a bit if she winds up on team yellow after all this anticipation, LOL (in the nicest way possible, we love you EA! :D:D)

Well another day, another dollar at work. Actually, I've started feeling positive about Mondays even as I look at it as the start of another week closer to ML rather than something dreary IYSWIM. Isn't someone else finishing work this week - always, I think??

CS - I know I said congrats last night, but forgot to say how weird you posted when you did, because I was just thinking it'd been a few days since we heard from you! Fab news, you knows this means all the other late-October ladies will follow swiftly :D

Labour vibes for those who want...even if you're only 36 weeks, we'll still help you out! :)

Som - glad to hear baby show was fun...what sort of goodies did you get?

my first day of maternity leave :j well techinically, am on annual leave for a couple of weeks then ml starts but I'm not going to quibble!

Goodluck with all the scans we have going on today! Hope is lots of good news all round.

Interesting pookie you mentioned your 34 week growth scan as I have mine (34+4) next Monday and at the 32 week scan he was only 3 lbs 2 so looks like I am heading for a very small baby. MIL bought me two tiny baby babygro's last week, they are sooooo small next to the mountain of 0-3 months stuff I have! Bit of a bargain too at £2.50 each.

som - yay for all the baby show freebies and bargains! perhaps I should have gone yesterday. One thing I looked at forgot to go back and get were these http://www.cheekywipes.com/ but thought afterwards I am sure I can come up with the same kit cheaper so will investigate the 99p shops down the High Street later, have decided to have a good walk everyday while off so I dont turn into a lump of lard!

always - I swear there was a post somewhere about how to make your own wipes quite easily...something about sewing a flannel onto something else...I'll have a go and see if I can find it.
(picked up a 6 pack of flannels from the 99p shop this weekend, coincidentally!)

    ETA: found it:
Someone was asking about washable wipes... Not had my cheeky wipes pack yet so can't pass comment on it... But I was thinking about how to make your own :money:style...

Face cloths 3 for £1, say four packs, cut each flannel in half it would make 24 wipes... £4
Storage boxes £1.49 1 for mucky, 1 for clean so £2.98
Mesh bag insert if you don't want to touch the dirty wipes £1.99
Water proof bag for taking out and about £2.45 1 for mucky, 1 for clean so £4.90
    Lavendar essential oil £3.49
    Tea Tree Oil £3.49

    Grand total: £20.85

    Cheeky wipes equivalent: £34.95...

And that's just a quick web search, I'm sure you could probably get most of the stuff in poundland... To be honest, I would probably forgoe the waterproof bags and just take a plastic box out with me... And I'm more than likely just going to leave the dirty wipe tucked inside the dirty nappy and put in the nappy bag...

Hi always, this link is quite reassuring, saying that the average baby is only 3.7lb at 32 weeks, with a weight of 7lb8 at full term.

Your last scan showed baby at 86% of the average weight, which would predict a full term weight of 6lb 6.

Hope that feels a bit reassuring...

Tell me and my geeky brain to butt out if not :)

  • Does anyone have any ideas on where to get some cheap elastic waisted work trousers? I'm only 6 weeks but already can't do up my buttons! it's really embarrassing and I don't want to tell anyone at work just yet... I'm normally an 8 but I'm guessing a 10 would fit... weird thing is I've lost a stone while gaining a bra and waist size ??
  • only just caught up congrats cheapskate :j
I was in the wars yesterday, We started our major clear out of all our carp in the garage so some bits from what will be the babie's room can go in there. But to keep warm and so people couldn't see into the garage we had the door down a bit, Well with me being so small i thought i didn't need to duck much to go under it but it was lower than i thought! I banged straight into the corner! I had a headache for the rest of the day. Then when back in the house i tripped over something on the floor, went flying and smashed my knee into the wall. Iv'e got a huge bruise from it too. Thankfully for me things didn't come in three's and that was it.

    Morning ladies,

Ive got today off so going to give the bathroom another coat of paint and repack my hospital bag. I slept really weird last night, couldnt nod off and kept having strange dreams when I did manage to sleep and keep having period type pains really low under my bump. Hoping and praying belly monkey isnt intending on putting in an early appearance!

Kindof I only like the original one, its all I could keep down in the first 12 weeks. Im sure belly monkeys going to be addicted to the stuff! Not long now until your scan :j My 20 week scan was meant to be at 2.40, I finally got seen at 3.55 and was so desperate for the loo I thought Id burst when they started pressing on my bump :o

Hmm, now should I have porridge and raspberries or cereal? Decisions decisions.

I'll have to get myself some :)

I know my 12 week scan was at 2pm and they were late so I got in at 2.45pm (didnt have to wait as long as you lol) and I really thought I was going to pee lol

I am hoping with it being 9.20 I am the 2nd appointment of the day?
