hugs for you portsmouthali, i hope it turns out to be nothing for you.
well only 1 more day to wait for the scan, I'm feeling a bit more positive about it but trying not to get my hopes up just incase. Still have spotting but its very light and no pain. I have all the symptoms I'd had for this pregnancy but they are just odd as completely different from all my other pregnancies, constant indegestion, low blood pressure and dizziness and breathlessness. The only thing thats the same is the tiredness, went to bed at 8 last night. I'm not taking the kids to school today, dd woke up with a cough and said she didnt feel well - she seems fine now but she isnt 5 yet so in theory they can not make me take her.
OH was supposed to see if he could have fri off from work this morning but I've not heard from him yet, if he cant my mum can get the day off to come with me. I work with my mum so it means they are 2 down but they have been really good, I think she covered my shift last night because she is normally there till 8pm and I didnt hear from her yesterday.0 -
Hello, I've been a bit of a lurker on here, can I take the plunge and join you all? I'm 8weeks (possibly more, "funny" period month before so might be a month ahead... I hope!) at the moment with my 2nd. DS is nearly 2. I really enjoy reading everyone's updates and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here!

Hoping for the same SJ - every time we've gone it's been similar, but as I've no pregnant friends or any friends who are anywhere near possibly being pregnant, I'm really hoping the others mums to be at classes will be nice
Who knows, we might end up at the same one and I promise I'm nice
Yeah that would be good, I'm nice tooOh, and we have been matched up in the secret santa too

weezl - sorry to hear you're having problems at work. What are KIT days?
It stands for 'Keeping in Touch' days. The government allow women to do 10 days max, paid at our normal daily wage, during our maternity leave, without loss of SMP or other benefits. It is at managers discretion whether to allow them or how many though (in my case, sadly!:o). Most people do them in the unpaid period of ML for obvious reasons!

I looked into it a bit more, and apparently it's because higher birth weight doesn't lead proportionally to larger head circumference. Ie as baby stays in the womb longer and gets more calories from the placenta he/she gains the weight in the more normal places, Tummy, limbs etc and hardly any at all on the skull. Like grownups really... We'd rarely notice a weight gain on our skulls!
Only larger head circumference really makes a difference to women's perception of their labour experience.
Hope that makes some more sense!
Thanks loads to you, som and everyone about my horrid work thing.
I'll survive, and we have our health and Fergie and bump. So could be a lot worse

wildfrog - congrats & welcome!!

Cheapskate - labour vibes!!!
Not much going on here today. Was really exhausted last night for some reason so pretty much crashed into bed after dinner. It's been getting cold, so I switched to our heavy winter duvet last night and all night felt like I was suffocating under it...like it was so heavy on top of me that it was hard to turn over! Really weird. Have been leaving work with a sore back so bought a gym ball earlier in the week and been using it at night - really helps just to sit on it for a while!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Argh, i feel like i've been riding a horse, it hurts to walk! What is it?!0

Aless where's your gym ball from? I was thinking last night about getting one. Supposed to be good for getting baby into position aren't they?
Weezl yes I guess that makes sense re head circumference. Here's hoping for a conehead baby ha ha!!0 -
SJ - I went the cheapest route possible and got the £5 value job from Argos (takes 20 yrs to pump up, I'm warning you)! But there's slightly nicer ones for only a little bit more.
Beenie - I feel exactly the same way...and I even used to ride horses regularly (way back when)!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
