Hi all, just catching up. Just wanted to say GISI, I had my midwife home visit today (Im 35+1, should have had it at 34 weeks really) and she said to book my next appt for 2 weeks time. However I am going for a scan to check about my low lying placenta at 36 weeks so she said if the result of the scan is that it hasnt moved, then not to bother with the midwife appt as the hospital would be booking me in for a c section at around 38 weeks  Having said that, she did say its likely that it will have moved out the way. Just cant believe things are getting this close!!
Be back soon!! xxBaby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
Scotsgirl and anyone else buying a parm - make sure you try it in your boot first!!! And don't assume because you have a medium sized car, the pram will fit. Skintchick on the Parent Thread has had problems as her pram won't fit in her medium sized boot.
I have a Renault Megane so it's a decent size, but my pram just fits. I did try it out first so I knew it would, but it's not as roomy as I would have expected!
ETA - no idea what a parm is! I meant a pram!0 -
Oh thanks Aless
I read something a while back on here and people were saying that the guy can fine you on the spot if you dont have the form for him lol.
If he comes round with a form tomorrow i'll happily fill it in, but OH wants us to go down there to fill one in
Had another little listen in to babys heartbeat today (im getting addicted i know!)
And i managed to record it on my phone, so hopefully will try to upload to facebook so my family can have a listen to
My little sister called me today to say she got a job where i work! She wont be working on the SKY campaign, she'll be doing the AFFINION outbound sales campaign
But i reckon she'll be good at it lol.
And she gets paid more than me and she's only 17!hehe.
But one weeks wages cover her months rent, so she wont be struggling now
(and hopefully she'll buy some cute baby things for her little nephew/niece hehe)0 -
Lauralou- if you're still around then sending you big hugs. Lots of us have been there and it is horrid, but fingers tightly crossed that you will be back here really soon.Laura, sorry to read your sad news, take care of yourself xxx
Gisi- I have another MW appointment on Monday,my 38week one but it's at home-but Im booked in for homebirth so maybe why. Then Im booked in for appointment on my due date too.
Had another great nights sleep, I can't work out whats going on! Im not knocking it,it's great, I have bags and bags of energy again today, but find it wierd how Ive gone from 3-4 toilet trips in the night and tossin and turning most of the night to sleeping fine all night apart from 1 loo trip at 3am ish
Ive cocked up with my iron tablets..thought I had another full packet in the medicine box but turns out I don't, so Ive got 3 tablets left to last me untill Monday and Im meant to be taking 2 a day. I called in at the doctors this morning to hand my repeat perscrip in so Id get some more by Saturday latest but the doctors is only flamin closed!!! The automatic doors were opening and the dental side was up and running but the doctors side was in darkness and nobody there!! Great, so couldn't organise the perscription, so IF there open tommorow I'll get my tablets on Monday now. I'll just have to just take 1 a day untill I get some more and hope it won't make much difference to my levels.
:whistle:Not at all jealous of your sleeping through the night......
Just a thought but you could always take over the counter iron tablets over the weekend so you don't miss out. I take a Spatone everyday and find it really good and gentle on th estomach.Lauralou - hugs and take care of yourself. Really do hope you come back here soon
Had our 32 week scan this morning. Background is at the combined screening at 12 weeks, despite every thing else being way above normal even with my age (36), one of the hormone levels was very low which is one of the indicators of chromosonal problems - our risk was high at 1 in 63 for downs - but also an indicator of placental function. We decided not to have a cvs or amnio and the 20 week scan found no "soft tissue" markers for downs or anything but have been having 4 weekly growth scans since. All the way along, he's been at the small end of things but this morning we were told that his growth rate is slowing down and there is now a chance of early delivery and we have another scan now in 2 weeks. His weight estimate is just over 3lbs which the consultant said shouldn't be an issue for early delivery. Boss agreed to bring my maternity leave forward so I'll be at home for 7 weeks before my due date now - apologies if I end up queue jumping but I'd rather that than the alternative. Infact would rather not even think about the worst case scenario mentioned this morning, just concentrating on counting kicks to reassure me.
Handy you were having the chat about clothes sizes yesterday - I bought a load of 0-3 months and also some up to 1 month from M&S. Can't bring myself to buy any tiny baby stuff but maybe I will have to. As DP said, if it makes me feel better to have some and we don't use it because he keeps on growing, we can always donate it to the special care unit.
Not too smiley here today.
:grouphug:Have a dodgy hug Always. All I can say is at least you know they are monitoring it well, and if you queue jump then it just means you get to meet you little one all the sooner. I'd get some tiny baby stuff if I was you then you'll feel all nice and prepared.I'm so sorry to hear your news Laura - would definitely advise going over to the TTC thread. A lot of ladies there are in the same boat and will definitely make you feel welcome.
Hugs to always as well.
I got a pair of black maternity trousers in Asda today, £14 which I thought was very reasonable.
I'm only 9 + 6 so quite early to be getting maternity stuff I think but my trousers are digging into me at work and making me feel sick lol. I'm only feet all day so can't fall back on undoing buttons and zips or they'll fall down
I would definitely check out eBay for maternity stuff. It gets worn for such a short amount of time that you can pick up some great bargains.
Fattybooboo- fingers crossed for your scan then. I know, time has really crept by! I remember joining this thread at four weeks pregnant, and now I've got four weeks to go!
Fitz- I feel tons better today thanks! I'm dreading the post-baby blues as I will no doubt be a tearful mess. Glad you're feeling better now though and can't wait to read your BS when you get the chance.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

After listening to a video clip on youtube, the sound i think i have been finding as the heartbeat is apparently the placenta. According to the lady who's video i just watched.
But it sounds like the sound i heard at my docs when he found the HB and said it was the HB. So im confusedx

EA - you could try getting a watch or clock with a seccond hand - first take your own pulse for a minute. Then use the doppler - if you are picking up a whooshing sound that is the placenta - if you are picking up a hb the same number of beats as yours then its yours iyswim. If you pick up a hb that appears to be double the ammount (exactly) then you are picking up your hb with an echo. If you pick up a fast hb - between 140 and 160 approx which is not a doubling of your own then that is the baby.
I find the babies hb sounds like a galloping horse (only quieter:rotfl:) lol
and dont worry your doc knows what they are doing - i am sure :grouphug:0 -
Something else to bear in mind EA is that the woman on the youtube clip might be wrong xMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0

Im currently uploading it to youtube so you can have a listen lol.
Im now about 90% sure its the placenta after youtubing some other fetel heartbeat videos *feels silly*
And im putting the damn doppler on ebay as soon as virgin install our proper internet lol x0
