  • Afternoon bumpsters! It is quiet on here today.

Well, I finally made it to the NCT sale after having a complete 'mare trying to park! Had to be brave and go on my own as OH had to work and had to park a bit of a walk away. It was then a bit of a mission to find the way in, and when I tried to go in an incorrect door a not very friendly man refused me entry and made me walk all the way round the outside of the building.....which was of course fine, as it's not like I'm 36 weeks pregnant or anything .

I got there half an hour after it opened (had aimed to be on time but parking and finding the entrance were against me) and there was still a lot of stuff left, but I suspect the best stuff was gone! There were masses of clothes, a room each for boys and girls and one sad little rail of neutrals! I picked up a couple of really nice bits (from the girls rail, but they are neutral) and a breastfeeding top for me but that was it. People were leaving with tons of stuff though so I guess there are bargains to be had. I think if you know the sex then you could get lots of clothes for not many pennies. Personally, I found the carboot better as I was only really wanting sleepsuits and fairly basic bits, and of course I was after neutrals!

I went to Morrisons on the way home and they have some brilliant offers at the moment. Onions, carrots and new potatoes for 30p a bag. Defo recommend a trip if anyone has one near.I also got another box of size 3 nappies while they're £9.98. Didn't see the big boxes of wipes though, but didn't really look for them.

GISI thanks for the NCT report. FWIW when I look for baby clothes, I don't always tick 'unisex' as a lot of stuff that's called boys or girls can actually be neutral, whereas the neutrals tend to be just really boring creams & whites. So yeah sometimes just takes trawling through the sex-differentiated stuff to find good things! Jenny said similar things about NCT sales being mostly good for clothing but not a lot of other stuff. Did the prices seem similar to what you can get at a boot sale or is stuff a bit more expensive because it's NCT??

(nikkit, my DH loves cats and was fawning over your kitties!!)

awww nikkit sorry to hear he has gone missing - the pet forum has great advice on lost kitties.
  • It was a bit more expensive than car boots, I'd say Aless. Not too pricy though and there is some nice stuff. It's all a bit crazy-disorganised though, which isn't that appealing when you're hugely pregnant (or presumably if you've got a little one with you).

Well I've been busy tidying and making apple crumbles! My mum and dad have apple trees in their garden so I picked up a few while I was there yesterday. Made a big apple and blackberry one, a smaller apple one and 2 individual sized apple ones which me and DH just had after our lunch.

Lovely neat bump nikkit! I'll put one of mine on in a sec, think I'm a bit bigger although only a few days ahead of you. Glad your scar is healing better now too.
  • Ooh SJ, I'm making apple crumble and custard later when OH gets home. We're having toad in the hole too. One of the best things about being on ML is being able to give lovely meals every night!
