A Little advice for everyone don't rely on an 11yr old to read the directions on a journey. We were on the motorway and hit road works and i said oh no please don't have shut our exit, DD no they haven't mum that's it their as we drove past it:mad:next exit put us out by 15min. had to stop and check the map and thank god i could remember them.[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

I really hope I can make new friends once bubs is here, but even that worries me as I seem to be rubbish at making friends of late as I hate getting too close to people and being let down. My only life seems here on the net, but can't be tied to here all the time with a lil'un. Just wanna hang out and do coffee or something, not even sure any of this makes sense.
I was worried about mum friends during PG too Somnium. If it's any consolation, afterwards I found that other mums are usually very friendly, and are in such a state of flux themselves that they bond quickly with you and are willing to make friendship initiatives sooner than in normal life.
Normally I take ages to make friends, but have genuinely found it much easier than I feared to get closish to new people.
Plus, I find I have less need for deeper chats with mum friends, pretty much someone to have a cuppa with and laugh about poo stories tops me up enough to cope with the rest of the day

EA - thats so fab to have a friend PG at the same time as you.
Woohoo for Harley can't wait to hear more.
Love the idea of a HB but so not gonna happen where we live atm, maybe next time round, besides I know as a first timer OH doesnt like the idea.
32b - joined Tesco baby club a month maybe more ago and haven't had anything from them. Oh and my OH is the same turning out lights, usually when am reading or walking up the stairs!
Feeling a lil down atm, I wish I had someone close by for company. Don't get me wrong as OH is fab to me but I have no nearby friends or family and I worry when baby turns up Ill be isolated. I have plenty of aquaintences but its not the same. My best friend who lives in the greek islands has hardly spoken to me of late and I feel she just isn't intrested. My Mum is lovely but a 3hr drive away and talking on the phone isnt the same as just hanging out. I'm not close to OH's family, well maybe his mum but find her a bit overbearing at times. I have similar fears Somnium! I think it's totally normal but I've had a look on mumsnet and found a mother and baby group near me. I've also joined the NCT so will be going to some of those coffee mornings too and hopefully meet lots of nice Mummies in the same boat.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

really? Even with 2 DSs? I thought you'd both be rooting for more pinkness about the place! What do I know eh?! :rotfl:(boys are fab though! I agree.)
