Poor csh, I'm sure I'm going to end up like you because I haven't had any signs yet unlike those close to my due date. At least I still have work to keep my mind off things.

I had to chase my OH as well, he didn't want to go out with me because he knew I was off to uni in 3 months but I knew I wanted him and despite a 5 year long distance relationship (when I was at uni) there was never anyone else. Been together 10 years now but just never got round to marriage.

The signs don't mean anything I don't reckon jenny! I had nothing no bh no cramps nothing but still went a couple of days early with dd - This time I bet it's me still here crawling about on the floor trying to pick stuff and feeling like a beached whale up at 42 wks! You'll be coming on and saying how you're back in your old jeans and telling us your LO is crawling and everything lol! X

Scary thoughts! Hope I don't go into labour while still at work, my last day is the 15th. Still not quite ready yet and enjoying being able to balance cups on my bump!

Anyone have an Ikea bed? Will I need an Ikea mattress or will a standard one fit??

Fraid so lass! But some of them are very reasonably priced. Just a word of warning though, the latex ones are really comfy but they hold in your body heat and radiate it back up to you, so if you are a warm at night person, be very careful!!! ;):D

Weezl- good question! No I wasn't told that it was less safe, in fact the MW that did my ante-natal classes was very pro-HB. I guess it's just a fear of the unknown and ultimately I would feel safer in hospital. Once I know what to expect a bit more though I'll definitely consider a HB next time.

cool :) thanks for answering, I'm just being nosey;), but really like people's views on where to give birth...

    Morning :)

Ca't believe I'm up at this hour on a Saturday, at least you have Fergie for an excuse Weezl! Really struggling to sleep with back ache at the minute, which then turns into front ache and means I fling myself around the bed trying to get comfy, wake up the OH & pee him off...so decided today I'd just give up and was out of bed by 7. Eurgh.

CSH - I used to have that exact bed :D We have the double version in our spare bedroom - that's how much I loved it! I'm afraid you will need an Ikea mattress for it, other ones are slightly too small (so actually, you could make do, as it's not too big?!). Word of warning - don't buy the cheapy foam mattress, ours sagged after about 6 months beyond use & I promise we're not mega heavy people!!

Now I'm sat waiting for OH to get up so we can pop into town...would it be cruel to switch the TV on really loud? :D

p.s. Weezl I'd love to have a home birth as can't bear the thought of being stuck in a hospital (my dad was in last year with a broken wrist - completely in pieces - and they gave him a sandwich in a plastic wrapper without opening it for him, then proceeded to say they couldn't open it when asked because of health and safety?!? It was also completely filthy and overrun with people having takeaways etc, far from being a clean environment). Unfortunately, OH is refusing as are my Dr's as they want to monitor a health condition I have as it might affect birth :( Not even sure at the moment if they'll allow a waterbirth :(
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

Oh poor you! On homebirth.org there's a section called 'you can't have a homebirth because...', which goes through some medical conditions and explains why it may still be safe. I'm not sure if yours is there, but it might be worth a look?

Morning all, Considering a revolving door in the brdroom to save me opening and closing it all night lol

DS got up this morning rather confused we met in the hall and he asked if he had school.. erm no son it's sat,(him) Why do i have school clothes on, (me)because you went to change and fell asleep and mum didn't want to disturb you. He then put info up on the TV and shouted What i slept right through. Charming he didn't even believe me. next time i'll wake him to put on his PJ's lol

Was watching the news about Dog fighting and the Dangerous dogs act, I hate it when stuff like that is on as for days after me and OH are always accused of having dangerous dogs. not because of their behavior but simply because ppl confuse the Japanese Tosa for our Japaneses Akita's. They look nothing alike just share the Japanese bit and ppl think that means if my dog bites theirs then mine is put down. Should print The act out and hand it to the next butt wipe that lets their little dog run up and harass my 2 when they are muzzled and on leads and they stand on their precious fifi when it runs under their feet.

    oh rant rant rant lol

Harley squishy csh where are your babies, let them out.

Very interesting weezle, it has a good section on VBAC, not that i want to push my luck with a HB but the points raised are worth putting to the consultant. I feel another list coming on lol

    One quote for the list:

women who have already had one VBAC are sometimes worried that their scar will have been put under stress by the first labour, and so might be weaker next time around. So, if you have already had one vaginal birth following your caesarean, you are in a lower-risk category for rupture than a woman whose scar has not been 'tested' by labour.

  • Morning!

Yay for being 13+4 Nicky! Mine never changed the EDD that I gave them so I'm still going with Nov 4th!

Csh- we have an Ikea mattress- not sure which one but we've had it years and it's still going strong. It's so comfy!

I'm so lazy today. OH has gone to work so I am still sat here in my dressing gown, unshowered, unfed. I really need to be get my butt in gear but I really can't be bothered today.

am having a lazy day too, have stuck kids in front of chitty chitty bang bang and an hour and a half later it is still holding their attention - the classics are the best. OH is off today yeah, so far he has tidied the lounge, hoovered, cleaned the kitchen. all i have to do today is a tiny bit of ironing and it can wait till later.

Sorry it tmi, earlier oh and i dtd and there was a little bleeding after, am hoping its nothing but after last time I'm a bit nervous, will ring the docs on Monday and OH will be lucky if he ever gets it again.

I would love to have a homebirth but with 2 previous c-sections and the likeliness of the gestational diabetes again I'd rather just stick with what I know. DS had shallow breathing when he was born (probably because of the c-section) but still if there are any complications I'd just rather be in the hospital. Our hospital is very good but nearly 45 mins away so is a pain for OH to visit and being in 3 days seems forever but this time I'll be glad not to have any other responsibilities like having to cook and clean and look after the younger ones.
