Sorry to hear you weren't well m2mg, glad to hear you are on the mend. I'm not sure about the temperature thing sorry.
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice - is it normal to feel a bit numb on your tummy? Just around my tummy button feels a bit numb, it's really weird.
Hiya jenny, not so much numb but I have noticed the area around mine is paler than the rest of my skin as if not as much blood is circulating there iyswim. It still hurts a bit to touch and MW did say to make an appointment with doc as could have an umbilical hernia but have been naughty and haven't been to see him.
While you're here jenny was wondering if you'd had any period-type cramps. MW said I would get them as baby is low in pelvis now but at times today they've seemed a little too painful and happen at intervals. I deffo don't think regular enough to be labour though. I keep wracking my brain to remember how my labour started off last time but I can't. I don't know if this is fairly commonplace or whether it's actually heading somewhere. Really not ready though!0 -
Oh well, I should probably mention the numbness to my gp on Wednesday, couldn't find anything on babycenter about it.
I haven't had any pains yet - no braxton hicks or anything so I'm not a good person to ask! I have been told that period like pains can be the start of labour but until things get regular it's nothing to worry about.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Sorry jennynoo got carried away shopping and forgot to post lol
Some ppl were talking about it the other day, i think it is common and nothing to worry about unless it becomes painful. would add it to aches and pains list for MW just to be sure. My belly button hasn't been the same since DD lol[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

been very poorly and not up to reading. I am still ill but a lot better then i have been...on the mend now
Just wanted to ask if anybody knows what having a really high body temp can do to baby??? I know they say dont have a hot bath as it can raise your body temp and be bad for baby. I know it can increase the risk of miscarrige but is there other things it could do aswell?????
The nurse kept saying you have to make surew your temp doesnt stay as high as it is etc as its bad for baby (was over 39.8/39.9 for a few days...) just wanted to check??
I was meant to have my scan this week but i had to cancel it so its booked for next tues so will be good to check up on baby....
thanks for any replys and ill try and catch up on all the news when feeling even better
Sorry to hear you have been ill, I hope you are feeling better soon, sorry I dont know the answer to your question

Morning all, hope we're all ok. Numb bits and twingey bits brings all the fun flooding back lol!
Well we told the kids last night, bit of a shocked silence followed by lots of excitement from both of them. We got their baby boxes down from the loft so they could go through them and sat comparing their first scan pics with wombles. DD2s is identical, could be the same bub!!!
Since the girls then announced that they planned to tell everyone they saw I thought I'd better let some of the family know lol, my parents and sister are all excited too which is fab (and I bit of a relief!) and I'm going to call my nan today.:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
Morninnnng & happy FRIDAY
M2M2G sorry you've been so illNot sure on what body temperature will do to bubs - if docs have medicated you I'd have thought they'd mention? Try not to worry too much & hope you feel 100% soon
Kindof lovely that your cousin has got in touch
eek CSH can't believe you're still here!
I love Fridays as it means OH is home for 2 whole days, makes no diff to me as I can be home whenever I want anyway! Wahoo, got a v lazy evening planned with whatever DVD lovefilm send and a yummy pasta for dinner...can't waitHis parents are home this week for a few weeks (live abroad) so our lives will be consumed by them so going to thoroughly enjoy these next couple of days. Had the most vivid dream last night of going for a night out with friends then bumping into a really old friend who worked at a scanning clinic - she offered me a sexing scan for £30 so I went, found out it was definitely a boy (they even measured his bits!) then went to the counter to pay & suddenly loads of my friends appeared drunk from a night out as if I was in a club, felt really awkward so called my dad to pick me up then had a long chat in the car about the baby. So weird, woke up straight after totally convinced this had happened yesterday and woke my OH saying OMG we're having a boy, I knew it! So, now I am even more convinced bubs is a Mr
