Hi ladies, caught up from yesterday but been so busy at work after being off for 3 weeks that I've already forgotten what I've read!

Big labour vibes out to anyone who wants them though and sticky bean vibes for the newbies :)

Well I had some pretty sh!tty news on Tuesday anyway, just getting my hed round it. My grandma was on hospital the Monday after my wedding to have a small lump removed from under her arm - got results Tuesday and it was a cancerous growth - lymphoma. She only saw the surgeon who removed it and is now waiting for more tests and a specialist appointment. So crap when you can't even find out how bad it is, what her options are etc. Trying not to think the worse but she's been so ill anyway recently, she had a small stroke last year and is almost crippled with arthritis at the best of times. I worry that with all the pain she's already in she might have had more symptoms for longer but just not noticed them.

Also my grandad was in hospital just before my wedding as he had an aneurism (sp?) that had been there a while and they were monitoring it, well it'd got worse so they operated to repair it - anyway the 2 hour op turned into a 5 hour op as they found another one while they were in there.

    He's still recovering from that.

This is my mum's parents and she's not coping well at all. She's also got problems with my dad, and their business. I'm worried about what will happen to her if it's not good news with my grandma.

Urghhh. Sorry for the long rant just seems to be a lot going on right now - everything with my life is going so well but it seems the further out in my family you go the bigger the problems get.

Just needed to get that off my chest, sorry.

Hi SJ, Really sorry to hear your news. At least with your grandad they have hopefully fixed all potential problems so he should be ok and fingers crossed for your grandma that the cancer hasn't spread. It's unfortunate that now is a time you really need to try to reduce your own stress so do what you can for your family but try not to worry too much. hugs.

    Hi everyone,

It was me who asked if anyone was having any trouble with ebay stuff coming late, I am just waiting on one now but only ordered end of last week so plenty of time. I was worried about one I had bought a while ago as the seller had sent me a rather snotty email at the time and it made me think she was either not going to honour the sale or post out late as a way of getting at me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt although it arrived today and while thankfully in good condition, the postage frank says it was only paid the day before yesterday so I was right. I want to give her a negative or at least a positive with some reference to her attitude and late del but I'm a bit of a chicken and have never done it before. She seems like the kind of person that would write really nasty things on return feedback so I think I may mark it down as a near miss.

SJ - sorry to hear that your family have been having health problems - hope they make a recovery soon and their treatment is successful. Best wishes to your mum and dad too x

Where's Harley? I feel sure we will hear some news soon!

Elasti - sorry to hear your friends are being rubbish. I totally sympathise as I feel like I've been forgotton about somewhat. When I had my little girl 7 yrs ago, I was the only one to have ever become pg out of my group of friends and because I got dumped by baby's dad, I had to leave my job where we all worked together and also move out of the city. Naturally with me in a different town and different priorities they really did seem to leave me behind. That was 7 years ago and amazingly we are still in fairly close contact even though I never moved back and still none of them have had children. I think some friends do find it hard to relate to you when you are pregnant but it can come back again afterwards.

Some friendships don't seem to recover though but I find those are usually the ones that aren't real in the first place.

This time, I have been declining offers of parties and nights out for most of my pregnancy which I thought would be understandable to my (most recent not the ones I moved away from) circle of friends as I've been so shattered and now have mobility issues. However most of them have now stopped contacting me and It feels dreadfully lonely. No one ever even texts to ask if anything has happened yet or to ask how much longer I have. I suppose it's a case of out of sight out of mind. I can understand why it happened to me more as none of my friends have children but just because your friends' children are older and they've finished having babies it seems a bit harsh for them to exclude you as you are all still mothers. I would see how it goes when you have had your LO and you are less sensitive and emotional and if they are still being witches then I would do as 32b says and cut them out. I hope this makes sense as got pretty bad period type pains and they are making me feel a bit floopy! x

Thanks for the good wishes girls.

I have been feeling something similar about my group of friends recently. Bu I was starting to feel it even before I got pg. Their priorities on the most part have changed since I met them, as have mine, but in totally opposite directions! They want to go out more and get more trashed and i want to stay in more and not get trashed!!

To be honest I'm hoping to meet some mummy friends at ante-natal etc as I only have 1 friend who has a child but I don't see her very often as she lives a bit further away. We have been friends since school though as she also just got married and is hoping to fall pg soon so that might work out really nicely!

I just cheered myself up somewhat by booking my maternity leave - finsh on 15th January which is 1 month before EDD - and holidays in between now and then.

I now have 60 working days left, well 58.5 as I still have 1.5 days left to book in at some point!

    Whoop whoop!!
