I'm looking at Maclaren XLR/XT, Quinny Zapp, Zia petite star, Bugaboo Bee, Dazzle silver cross and Bebe Comfort Streety. Any more anyone wants to suggest? lol Can't decide but would prefer one where LO faces me and also already have a maxi-cosy car seat.

We've got the Bebe confort Loola (saw the streety and didn't think it looked very sturdy). You can get adaptors to fit the maxi cosi car seat to it and the seat goes both ways. Last time I was in Mothercare they had it on offer, under £200 I think, but this would be for the last season one (we did this from Boots and got 2008 one for £135 :D).

Originally got it as it fits in our 107 boot (however after much peer pressure I have caved in and decided that a car with a bigger boot and generally more space might be sensible and we are going to look at a 207 on Sat, like Gymfriend I am a copycat :o)

Csh/Weezl - I had a sweep a week before my EDD and the midwife said she wouldn't expect to see me for my appointment the following week. I probably pushed her a bit for how long she would expect me to hold out and she said she would expect me to be in labour in 48 hours. She didn't make any promises though so although I was getting impatient waiting, I can't really blame her. I did have Holly before my appointment the following week. Sweep on Monday - contractions started on Friday.

When talking about baby being engaged, just watch what your notes actually say - mine said what is palpable which is the opposite of engaged! So, 4/5 palpable meant 1/5 engaged. From what I have read, it doesn't indicate labour is imminent, just that you may suffer more discomfort and still have to wait as long!

Jenny - we have a Loola Up and have found it excellent so far. It was recommended by someone who had tried a few prams with her LO and we ended up deciding it would be best for us. Not been using it long enough to say it's definitely the best, but so far it's been great. It's really easy to manouvre and it's compatible with the Maxi Cosi Cabrio seat. The pushchair can fold telescopically, but you can change the direction the seat unit faces from outward to parent. We bought the carrycot too, but the pushchair can lie flat so is suitable from birth.

    No news on Harley yet?

I have a sicky baby today. Poor little thing isn't keeping her milk down. I guess this is just the start of a lifetime of worries! Welcome to parenthood!
  • On the job discussion, my job title is Product Technical Specialist for Chemical Imaging and I work full time at a scientific instrument company - but I just say scientist as it is easier (and I can never find the correct option in pull down menus for insurnace quotes etc!).
Only 9 working days left till I take the rest of my annual leave then mat leave starts the day beofre my due date! Although have at least one half day for antenatal class next Wed.
  • Right I need to go get ready for preggy yoga (well some yoga and lots of gossiping).
Warned DH that he may have to try the perineal massage thing on me as I tried the on the knees, round the back thing and it just isn't happening (and I have got long arms!).

I would like your opinions please - trying to decide on a middle name for Holly. I was going to go with Holly Olivia, but MIL made a comment about not chosing Olivia for a middle name (she knew this was on our shortlist of names for a girl) as she would be called Holly Ollie. It's kind of annoyed me although she didn't mean anything by it, but now I don't know what to do.

What are your preferences - Holly Olivia or Holly Charlotte? These are my likely choices.

I work for Scottish Government by the way, dealing with criminal records.
  • Dont worry EA I think I am having a girl anyway lol

    Fitzio I like Olivia

  • I think Holly Olivia is a lovely name Fitz, and to be honest I don't think that middle names really get shortened, do they?

Weird, at the moment our choice is Isabell Lily :p

Oh wow! That is weird lol.

I just had some thai green curry super noodles, i dont recommened them. They are plain and yukky :(

I have my ipod back! Im well excited. I thought we lost it when we moved and i couldn't afford the £220 to replace it. Turns out we left it at the old flat and my sister picked it up when she was collecting some stuff for my uncle (he owns the flat) and forgot to tell me lol.

Is it bad that im still hungry after a bowl of noodles? I might make some more :p

Fitzio - TBH they both sound lovely to me. I would go with your first instinct b/c if you don't you might regret it for a long time everytime you think of her?

No more food talk! It's the end of the month, so I'm stuck with freezer curry which tastes fine but is NOT what I crave at all, so am very reluctantly eating it all the while wishing it was something far more interesting.
