Yeah we have something similar in our (extended) family, if someone names there baby a name of someone in the family there is alot of moaning saying that they 'copied' them, or bragging that they named there baby after there child! :rotfl::rolleyes:

We are having a few problems with names we had our girl name sorted but as we are having a boy we had to re-think, We are not at all close to my hubbys bro, both distance and close relationship wise. So when we named our ds what we wanted and found out after that our nephew and ds share the same middle name. This did not go down well at all. But we didn't know, he wasn't christened and his parents spilt when he was 6 months so we don't see him much.

My ds has chose a name for his little brother and has been telling everyone although we are not 100% sure we like about 3 names at the moment and Mil made this big announcement right what are you calling the baby? because i can tell you now that your brother (who has just had a baby with his new wife, they had a girl) was going to call the baby xxx or xxx if it had been a boy so i am just warning you now as you claimed not to know about your nephews middle name.

Well the 2 names are only the blooming same as our names and they never told us that. So now it will look like we are copying them again, It's annoying as they had a girl anyway and we can choose what ever name we like but it was like MIL was putting the names down in case BIL wanted to use them for any other children they have.

So we don't know what to do now. We are torn by these 2 as it is so it would be hard to choose a different one.

  • OMG Elasti, why would anyone get upset about cousins sharing a middle name. That is mad! People are funny about the whole name business. My in-laws don't want us to use any names from their side but tbh I'll use what I like! It's hard enough as it is without worrying whether someone's great-aunt had one of the name's we like as a middle name!

On the job front, I'm a store manager for Starbucks. Hoping to go back part-time once baby is here but nothing actually arranged yet :o. I do enjoy my job though, so hopefully we can find a good compromise.

OH and I have fallen out. He was supposed to be off all weekend, but got asked to work Sunday as his work are short, and I was fine with that, even though I'd wanted to go to an NCT sale together. Now he has agreed to work Saturday as well. No consultation with me, just agreed to swap with a friend. Problem is friend told him it would be double time, but surprise-surprise it's not! It's no extra pay, just a re-allocated day off. Now I'm hacked off as that means he will be working seven days in a row, grouchy because he's tired and I'll be stuck on my own! Men .

  • jha i know it's easier said than done but pelvic floor is a must, try to imagine that someone is trying to get you with something down their and clench the muscles up lol what a pretty picture hehehe hold it for a while then release slowly and repeat as often as you remember.

Weezle just had a thought about c/s stupid brain had blanked it out. I had pre-cancerous cells a few years ago and had lazer treatment for it. Got all clear since, but could that be a reason. sorry i didn't remember sooner it was a bad time then and i think my subconscious has blocked it out of normal thoughts.

I'm looking at Maclaren XLR/XT, Quinny Zapp, Zia petite star, Bugaboo Bee, Dazzle silver cross and Bebe Comfort Streety. Any more anyone wants to suggest? lol Can't decide but would prefer one where LO faces me and also already have a maxi-cosy car seat.

Funny you should say that cos i been looking at this today. On Boots.com but don't know how it compares price wise to other shops

    Was £275 Now £175 http://www.boots.com/en/Bebe-Confort-Streety-Travel-System-Black-2008_53423/

Also saw this post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=25491979#post25491979 and wondered about signing up to their parenting club to save 10%, then use topcashback for 3.5% which would bring it down to £151.

    If that makes sense :cool::o

    Hello everyone.
Well i am back from the doctors, and my doctor was actually nice for once and spent a while chatting to me.
He has sent a form off for an early scan and have booked my booking in appointment with the midwife for mon 12th.
    excited:D
Talked to my doctor that i was a little worried as i am not feeling any different nor had morning sickness(which is good) but just scared that i'm not feeling anything yet! i suppose its too early to feel different but am just worried since my last miscarriage.
When did you all start to feel pregnant?!

    Hi Laura,

I missed the first 9 or so weeks and didn't start to feel pregnant until I started to feel things, even after scans it didn't feel real. I've been really lucky and not had any nasty symptoms really

Don't sweat it- once you start to get big and a bit more uncomfortable you'll wish you were normal again!
