Morning. I've been lurking this morning, not sure why. Woke up this morning desperate for porridge. Not sure why, but it was lovely! Having a day at home today, trying not to go out and spend any money today.
Nanc- how are you feeling now?
Still no news for Harley, and everyone else still seems to be around!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
CSH, sorry to hark back to an earlier chat, but I was frustrated to hear about short-staffing meaning that you might not get offered a sweep.
I looked it up in the NICE guidelines and it specifically says women at 41 weeks plus should definately be offered one (I think that' a few days yet for you?) Anyhow, just thought that might be useful for you to know!
I'm 41wks tomorrow but CMW only do Wed am so this will be last appointment with them. (CMW work out of a different hospital than the one I will deliver in, team of 3, don't always see the same one)
Guidelines lol
Just to give you a rough idea of my care so far:
Antenatal Notes- These are a photocopy and I had to supply my own folder and they contain the following:
Pg 1- contact details for MW/Hospital etc BLANK
Pg 2- Local information BLANK
Pg 9-Whose Signature BLANK
Pg10-U/S Scan results BLANK (yet to receive a report of 20wk scan)
Pg11- Information MW will give you re: Benefits/blood tests/Feeding. Space for MW to date when leaflets given BLANK- yet to receive any
Page 12/13 Birth Plan. MW has never mentioned this have filled it in myself, has not been checked over. I asked and was told next app, twice!
Page 14- consent form for DownsS and SpinaB-BLANK- have had these at 16wks, have had no results
Page 15- Infant feeding Antenatal Checklist 2/3 of subjects to be discussed and dated by MW BLANK
Page 16- Your test results BLANK
This is pretty much every section that the MW has to fill in left blank. The only page of my notes ever to venture out of the folder is the double page where BP etc is recorded at antenatal appointment.
Antenatal Classes: I asked and was told i'd get a letter, I asked again and was told my block had already started. She said I could go to one the next day but I had missed the ones I wanted and this one was on BF and I'm FF. Plus OH was working and I didn't want to go myself so have had no antenatal classes either.
That turned into a bit of a rant there!! Guess all I'm trying to say is I won't be holding my breath for a sweep.
Christ, I'll be mighty embarrassed later if I go down there today and she offers me one!:rotfl:0 -
hiya! fergus didn't go into his 0-3 month stuff for around 4 weeks, so I'd say it's worth it, his birthweight was 7lb 4 and a half.
HTH x
should I ever get up today, I'll just have to do more shopping, at least it was pay day yesterday! We have another scan next Thursday (32 weeks) so should see how he's growing then. Although the way I feel now, assuming he's healthy, I'd be quite happy if he wants to make his appearance a little bit early, don;t think I can cope another 9 weeks feeling this sapped of energy and appetite.0 -
Hello everyone.
Well i am back from the doctors, and my doctor was actually nice for once and spent a while chatting to me.
He has sent a form off for an early scan and have booked my booking in appointment with the midwife for mon 12th.
excited:D
Talked to my doctor that i was a little worried as i am not feeling any different nor had morning sickness(which is good) but just scared that i'm not feeling anything yet! i suppose its too early to feel different but am just worried since my last miscarriage.
When did you all start to feel pregnant?!0 -
csh - can't believe your maternity notes / history, outrageous. Mind you, in terms of midwifery care, I've had to ask for all the 3 appointments I've had before, none have been done automatically. I am finally seeing a midwife tomorrow who is part of the medical team at the hospital and she seems really nice and on the ball. I think if I'd have not asked I wouldn't have got that either.
kindof - don't worry about stupid friends commenting about movements, to this day I swear I was feeling things from about week 16 (my mother said I was being ridiculous, but then she says that about a lot of things!)
someone earlier mentioned back / butt pain and I can't for the life of me remember who even though I only just read it - I had rotten pains a few weeks ago and went to the GP who did nothing but gave me the name of a local osteopath, turns out was the sacroilliac ligament and she worked wonders - say me the next day and the £36 was worth every penny. The pain was like someone had kicked my bum 100 times! Was panicking thinking it was SPD that you read so much about but it wasn't that bad at all.0 -

But then again my doc was an idiot and although he said it was an emergency app to me he put me through for an ordinary one and gave incorrect details on the referral too.
Glad you don't have long to wait, the excitement is just so much lol.
Edit: I changed doctors because of the way i was treated. They refused to even see me despite concerns i had before the long awaited MW appointment.[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j
