I also think it's a blip. Talk to him spud, you have a lovely relationship. Finding stuff to go together which will break the routine and the rut which he may be finding himself in would be an excellent idea.

He;s lovely most of the time. It's our wedding anniversary on Friday. Maybe I should wait to talk till after that :o

Spud how about taking up walking together. Lou and her OH did to help weight loss and to spend quality time together and I remember her saying how much close her and OH had become. Would give you something to do together, spend no money and would give you some quality time...even if its only an hour!

Walking would be fab, but I think he would probably crack open a can or 2 when we got back. i'm thinking days out, where we dont get back till bed time :D
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

  • i have a sensory disability - i got funding for a computer in my first year, cost about 1k - a long time ago.

also could claim costs for a printer and consumables as i had to do more printing than other students most years - i think its something like get basic equipment in the first year and see how it goes, get assessed on what you will need and then quotes for it.

Student disabilty officer is best person to help, and apply through SAAS.

Has assessment been done for whats needed?

:T:T although spending the whole day out every weekend until bedtime might be expensive and tricky. I guess you could go afternoon, take a picnic tea, walk, adventure and stop off for a bit of back seat nooky to take you to bedtime :D

  • I'm off to bed now but I just had to share this with you before I go.

It's a comment off Youtube on the trailer for the sequel to Phantom of the Opera (worst idea ever, don't get me started  ).

It said, and I quote, "Either it'll fail, or it'll be good." I see the ministry of the bleeding obvious is out in force again... :rotfl: :D

Evening lovely peeps. Hope you're all OK :D

I need advice on 2 matters please

Firstly, how to tell someone they're not a nice person when they've partaken in booze :o

I guess it depends who it is and what they have done. I suppose I would say some jokey remark one day and say that "you are a right funny one in drink" or something like that IYSWIM if it gets really nasty then you will have to just come out with it I am afraid.

Second, DS is suffering some name calling at school. Do I call them on Monday or let him deal with it?

Some kids can be right twatts cant they:mad: it is often difficult to stop the name calling I am afraid as the old ignore it strategy is not often effective. There are lots of parenting websites who offer advice on this matter but hopefully the bully will get bored and leave him alone. Give him a hug from me xxxx
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

I think you should try having a word with OH when he is sober and not likely to want a drink, early in the morning. Tell him how you feel when he is drinking and how he changes.

Drinking is so habit forming. Not necessarily as far as being an alcoholic but there have been times in my life when I have drunk way too much, every night. And then I'd think that I'd have to have a drink for all sorts of reasons. If I was working I needed a drink to settle nerves.. if I wasn't I needed a drink to help me sleep. Even weekend drinkers get into the habit, it doesn't need to be every night. Sometimes a kick up the bum is what is needed to break out of it.

I'm sure if hubby knew how you felt he would try to make the change. I hope so anyway hon.
