I've seen loads of friends die young, mostly their own doing through drugs to be honest. I did have one friend Den who died of a heart attack aged 39, he just dropped dead one morning in front of me. I've not ever got over that one, he had a genetic condition that he never knew about.

Of all of my friends who have died, Jason Rae is the one who I don't think I'll ever get over. He was my buddy and I loved him. The media never spoke about the sweet kind guy, just the smack head, and, yes, he was addicted to drugs and it killed him but he was a superstar, musically and as a person.

It does teach you to live life for now doesn't it.

Thanks toto it was an almost identical thing with him. He was out rock climbing with a group of school children, had climbed to the top to set the ropes up and just died. His mate couldnt get a reply from him so climbed up and found him dead. It took mountain rescue 3 hours to get him off the mountain. so so sad and i loved him to pieces. one of lifes good guys. PM revelaled a massive heart attack. I like to think he had such a big heart that he gave to everyone that he simply wore it out. I miss him everyday.

When people go off the rails with drink or drugs it is easy for people such as the press to think ill of them without understanding the issues beneath that addiction. It is such a shame that your friend was such a lovely man yet the press made people think badly of him.

My friends death has given me the biggest kick up the asse that anything every has done and I have changed, personality wise, maturity wise and determination wise in the space of the few weeks. Life is for living, here and now, we dont know if there will be another tomorrow. tell people that you are close to how you feel about them today, mend rifts and build bridges today, challenge yourself and maybe scare yourself a little today, but most of all, LIVE!!! you dont know when you will get the chance if you dont do it now.
