  • sorry Spud, I think I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick.....I thought you had a friend who was struggling with alcohol..........I apologise as obviously I don't mean that anything in my relationship was remotely like the situation with your DS.....

Tigs, that sounds good, hope she carries on getting better.

I've got a bit of a problem, the charity shop can't take my old sofa and chair till next friday, and it needs to go before thursday. They gave me a list of other places to call, but since it was after 5 I've had to leave it till tomorrow. So there's 4 more charities to try (plus the RSPCA who have furniture shops), and two 'junk' furniture shops nearby, then if it really comes to it I'll just have to get the council to take them to the tip.

evening all :D Thank god it's Friday!!

Debating whether to go and get a bottle of wine. I fancy something really 'plummy' but I don't drink much red, it's mostly too heavy for me and I get a headache (rather than other stuff I can drink all night and not really suffer with ;):p). I might go out and treat myself to a really decent rose.

Did a bit of filming of Charlie with my freebie camcorder earlier (I know, I'm a saddo :rotfl: ) so I will be looking at how easy it is to upload onto my computer.

My Mum used to get headaches with red. When they were on holiday in France she learned to put soda water in it and now she gets all the flavour but no headaches.

BB, sorry to hear that, mum had a drinking problem for a long time, at least two bottles of wine a night and we think it got worse and went onto spirits. She's got a boyfriend now though and seems to be doing better - I've only had one slurry phonecall in the last few months. It's really not nice having to put up with the nastyness and memory loss and things.

Elfen, what sort of writing do you do? I'm working on a book (and have ideas for about 5 more!).

I met with my outreach worker this afternoon and mentioned Becky and Linda coming round, she asked me what website it was and when I told her went on about how great Martin is.

    Evening all

Big hugs spud, I was bullied at school and this one girl made my life hell...!!!!!! As I got more confident I put her in her place once or twice and it stopped. Hope DS can ignore them or they bogoff and leave him alone. Kids really are cruel at times!

Oh I have fat photos...who wants a real real laugh!

  • @ spud - This is a tough one to actually pull off but one idea that your DS could try is agreeing with them. For example, if they say, "You're a swot," he says back, "Yeah, I am, aren't I?" But he should be telling himself in his head, 'No, I'm not.'

I know it sounds weird but I tried it once, when I was the least popular girl in school. I'd been bullied severely by pretty much the whole school for 3 years and it dropped down to about 20 or 30 people giving me a little bit of grief now and then within about 6 months. I can still remember the day I did it to one of the lads. All his friends laughed at him and he never did it again. Because if the person's agreeing, what do you say back? You've got no ammo.
