Hello all....well I finally found you!Must say was very confused for a little while!
YM know its a bit late but my final total was 6...rubbish I know but still better than none I suppose...
Have been working out my units over the last few weeks though and am now averaging 30-40 a week rather than the 60-70 I was sinking before so am still quite pleased with this. I seem to have a new found resolve of not just carrying on most nights like I used to.... regardless of wether I would have a hangover or not the next day...some nights I even just stop at the one glass...still cant seem to get my head round having none at all for an evening though!
Have been docs today and got my LFT results....was stunned to discover they are normal  was really shocked to be honest as I have drank heavily on and off since i was 14 which is 18 years!Maybe my liver has repaired itself each time I have had my babies as have never drank whilst pregnant or much for the year afterwards.I dont know but I know I need to carry on at a safeish level and not think what the hell everythings fine so lets get P****d !
Have also been told I have acid reflux and IBS so relly need to be careful with my drinking and smoking as they make them worse.
    Hope everyone is ok today....
Ooh almost forgot can I have 8 again please Fay....erm am rubbish at maths but suppose will save about £3 a day ish :D Must meet target this month as have only done it once before!

  • I seem to find it easier not to drink in the daytime. 1, because I'm usually at work and 2, I suppose it is more socially 'acceptable' to drink in the evening rather than the daytime.

Working in a supermarket, my worst temptation is to grab a bottle on the way out the door, so once I'm out of there it's not so bad!! I'm also trying not to cook dishes that I'd usually plonk a glass of wine into, otherwise once the bottle's open it's a gonner!

Me neither :confused: I am fine until 5.30, but don't normally get home to 6.30 and straight to the fridge

BHB I know several people who have taken Antabuse with success. One close friend who was desperate to stop drinking could never get past 3weeks,I would wait with baited breath and sure enough she would pick up a drink. She took Antabuse for quite a short time and today she is over 5years sober.:T .

Thanks Heath480. Did she have any side effects at the time? ..... apart from the obvious if she DID drink?

    Best wishes

    Especially for BHB.

No she had no problems and never drank whilst on it,I do remember that there were a lot of things she couldnt use or eat whilst on them,it was a suprisingly long list.she was given it by the Doctor.Mouthwash with Alcohol in,gel toothpaste, vinegar (I think).Cant rememder what else but I remember her looking at the ingredients of absolutely everything, amazing how many things they put Alcohol in.

    Happy peaceful evening to all.:D
