Hello all, I found you! :hello:What are we doing here?
I haven't had a chance to catch up with all the posts in the last couple of days but well done to everyone for getting through September whatever the trials, tribulations and triumphs. October is a brand new month and I for one am feeling very positive.
YM thank you for scoring in Sept. I had an AF day yesterday so is it still possible to update the scores? If not it doesn't matter I got my 'jumpy'
Have a good day all

Morning all!
Fay, would you put me down for 10 please for October, modest but achievable and hopefully I'll exceed it. I'm gathering that we are trying to save money as well but as a cheapskate that's a minimum of £33.33 for mebut it all adds to the total.
I find I'm more motivated by the lack of empty calories paricularly as I was anything but moderate in my eating in holiday.
When I tried motivating myself with money saved (last years failed attempt before discovering you people) I found myself drinking gin from the cupboard as that somehow didn't count as it was already paid for!
Thanks YM for scoring September :T
Looking forward to AF1 for October!0 -
Postive thing for me today
:)Found OH a t-shrit for xmas which says 'Body of a god' (shame its buddha!)
Ok bit of motivation
If we all stick to our guns and rack up our AFD's in October
Collectively we will have saved in October almost £2kTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Happy new month to everyone and good luck with achieving your targets it can be done:A
So much money to be saved,I know when I drank I bought so many other things as well,it always seemed a good idea at the time.I live by a beautiful canal junction and saw a boat for sale one day and bought it:mad:what a mistake that was! it was very light and blew all over the place in any wind.Had some disastrous outings in it.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
BHB I know several people who have taken Antabuse with success. One close friend who was desperate to stop drinking could never get past 3weeks,I would wait with baited breath and sure enough she would pick up a drink. She took Antabuse for quite a short time and today she is over 5years sober.:T .
Well I am still in my dressing gown:eek: off to the shower now.Bye all.Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

Here we go, my first month of reporting my AF days (and owning up to the non-AF ones!) and I'm feeling really good :j
It's great to read what people have found positive about today so far, let's carry those good vibes forward for the whole of October! I'm using my new found positivity to do some very overdue decluttering - boy it feels good! Plus it gives me less time in the evenings to think about the demon drink, so it's a win win situation:D:D
Have a good afternoon all!

thank you
Ok so how are the bells and urges going for everyone today
Jo (hunny!) what's your avoidance strategy for later - seems to me that if you can get home (without shopping) you do OK
My strategy is simple - lock purse in office - no alcohol in house.
Teaching tonight so must make sure I don't accidentally 'forget' to lock purse away.
I know how pathetic I am later on in the day.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I'm feeling fine at the moment but then I very rarely drink, or want to drink, during the day (except at Christmas etc or when I am on holiday). My problem is when I get home from work.
I think it would really help if there was no alcohol in the house; once I'm in I wouldn't be bothered to go out again to buy some. However, there is always alcohol in the house; my husband also has a drink problem but worse than mine. He has to know that there is plenty of wine in the house, if the 'supply' drops under two bottles he gets jittery. Since I have started this endeavor I have asked him not to offer me a drink or even worse pour me a glass automatically, I have told him that I will get myself a drink if I want one. It does make it more difficult to be AF when he is drinking though, it's something we have always done together. I wish we could stop together but of course he has to make that decision himself.

I will not be buying alcohol as I literally have no money  literally!! All went on the car yesterday
Plus, liver is hurting :undecided
Still feeling positive, had a few set backs during the day but I will not let this damage my good mood
Woohooo:D:D
