I got paid yesterday, paid everything  had the car tax and MOT nightmare and now only have £3 in the bank and owe my mum £96 for the car tax :undecided, don't get paid for another 4 weeks

An astonishingly bad end to the month for me YM so my figure sticks, no jumpy :( but thanks so much for the fantastic scoring :D

Good luck Fay for the month ahead :)

I think we need to start a petition to have this thread moved back.

Hey Jo, I too had an astonishingly bad end to September, alcohol-wise. So lets get back on track together shall we? On my part, I don't know if it was complacency, boredom or just plain weakness (I suspect a mixture of them all) that has resulted in me boozing for the last 3 days straight.

I'm determined not to have a drink tonight, but that's easier to say at 8.45 in the morning, than at bells time in the afternoon :p:p I want to start the month in a positive way!

So I will be on line later today and this evening Jo, (and everyone else of course) so we can talk eachother out of having a drink!

I would also like to say thank you to Yellowmonkey for keeping score for September - what a fantastic job you did! :T

And thank you to Fay for scoring for October and keeping tabs on our savings too. It's going to be an interesting month........:T

Hugs to all. Have a lovely day today. Happy October!

Positive things that have happened to me so far today.....

    I woke up
Kids didn't give me any grief
    Coffee tasted particularly good
No lost shoes, bags or other bits which ensues in a panic
    Got to childminder on time
No traffic so got to work early

and the best one so far.........
Colleague text me enroute to work and asked if I wanted a bacon sarnie as she was going to the cafe and I had forgotten to make breakfast :D:D

    Lovely post Jo.....
Keep thinking like that for the rest of the day.We do have so much to be thankful for and sometimes can't see in front of our face.

    Regarding moving this thread...
I am now 18 months alcohol free after stumbling across the thread whilst in the depths of despair over my debts.
In my case Debt and alcohol went hand in hand and this thread, I think, may have saved my life as well as my marriage and my sanity.
I would never have found it in the diaries.

I hope newbies that are in the position I was don't miss out on the wonderful support on here.

Good luck for today and for October.
Off to do MORE overtime now.:o

    Take care of you

morning everyone and Big Thank You to YM for this. that was my first month on here and it's great to see progress and thank you for charting it. I was AF last night and so that means I did 29 out of my 30 day target. Feeling pretty chuffed as on the one day that I was not AF, I only had one glass of champagne. Looking forward to the new month although am going on hols for part of it and not expecting to be AF for all of those days but hope to be drinking far less than usual and follow maman's lead!
Good luck everyone for the month ahead. Lovely day again today.
Good things so far today :

got up and made lovely pot of tea and peered out into the dark garden
very mild when out walking dog this morning - trees looking beautiful
made sandwich for work with freshly baked bread - mmm
    got paid!
washing basket and ironing pile empty
got dressed and could fit into my smaller size trousers!

    Good luck for October :D

As Fay seems to have grasped via ESP - I am aiming for 21 units a week ..... how did you know that

Molly is going to kick me up the bum for not giving up completely but have just had a bit of a light bulb moment in the fact that I realised that 4 cans of stella has the same amount of alcohol as 1/3 bottle of Gin or Vodka:eek::eek: .......Now I can safely say that I wouldn't or couldn't drink 1/3 bottle of spirits !;)

    So - my aim ...... 3 units a day ! .... tops!

Fingers crossed, legs crossed and even eyes crossed :rotfl::rotfl:

Last chance saloon before i have to give my life to NORCASS and have some real 'chemical help' ie Antabuse (Anyone had this ? - would love to hear about the experience)

    Best Wishes for the Month
Good luck everyone ...... count those pennies !
If I stick to my target should save about £3.00 a day !

Finally YM - thanks for a sterling job !

Its nice reading about when people have a nice morning and seem to be able to 'smell the roses' so to speak..

My morning started well as the kids didn't wake up at 6am like they have been (1st one was up at 7am) wasn't doing too badly but then ds (long story) threw his coat at me and I shouted really loudly at him  I was sooo shocked and angry but now I feel bad :o anyway he was quieter than usual going into school and he came up to me for a cuddle and said he was really sorry - I don't usually find that he is too sorry when he is in trouble for stuff but I think he actually was this time....

anyways sorry for that ramble...am really happy to be back here with you all I have missed you...I too will be back on here later when the bells are clanging as unfortunately I have wine in the house! we decided to get some in last night as had a particularly bad day (no excuse) and dh ended up buying 3 for a tenner  at least I only had 2 glasses so we only consumed 1 of the bottles and the plan is that the others will be for the weekend....(have taken the white out of the fridge and will put them both somewhere out of the way in a minute)

    sorry really rambling

Good luck this month BHB - I have a feeling it is going to be tough with the nights drawing in and all that but you can do it - hot chocolate all round me thinks x

catch you all later - JO hope your day continues in the same way - am really jelous of your bacon buttie  I have eaten all my calories till lunchtime and am still really hungry...

  • YM am declaring on 29, bit annoyed to have had that one drink but pleased that it was just the one. Thanks for scoring, top stuff.

Not putting in a target for October, am hoping to just get on with it toute seule (but I'll be lurkin'...).

    Good luck all!

Well, there goes September and I'm pretty chuffed at hitting the 24 day target.

Am fully confident that October shouldn't be a problem and that I will managed the full 31, taking me past the halfway mark of the 100 AFD challenge.

    Whoo Hoo.

(Who moved the thread by the way? I went through 5 pages of DFW posts thinking 'surely someone must have added something in the last two days' before checking the diary forum. Can I be informed by post next time please :))
