Hi All,
Just flying through to say happy new year
I'm having a bit of a wobble and am back on the tinnys. Can't wait for Monday to get back into routine, then I should be back on the 'nearly straight and slightly larger than narrow'.
Hope everyone is OK.

When I looked up the AA meetings in my local area there were lots of them at all different times of the day. I live in London though so I'm not sure if it would be the same where you live.:)HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Afternoon - I am feeling guilty because I haven't left the flat since yesterday morning when I got home from my friend's house.... not that I have anything to do....but it seems like a nice if frosty day.
I have £6 in my purse which I need to spend on bread, lettuce etc for packed lunches next week (and then PAD any change :A) but the Marlboro Lights are screaming my name so I daren't go to the shop! I am sucking on a nicotine mint and trying to ignore the cravings. I like smoking but it is definitely a luxury I cannot afford... a bit like the wine
Hope you are all having productive days and will catch up on the thread properly later. I am now off to look at how to live on £4,000 a year!!

There's been a lot of posts around the diaries about people taking their Christmas trees down; does no-one stick with tradition & keep them up til the Epiphany anymore?

Thanks HB- still hanging in there, drinking tea and eating Cheddars - expect me on the weight loss challenges soon I fear  - and sitting under a blanket listening to Absolute 80s while reading through all the threads.
I am NOT taking down my Christmas tree until the 6th - no way!! It is a sparkly happy presence in my flat and will remain until the last day of Christmas:xmastree:
I do have a lovely string of flower shaped lights around my mezzanine though so all will not be plunged into darkness...
I have a bottle of yummy Oyster Bay wine in the fridge which I am not going to open today. I think I will save it as long as possible and it will be a treat! Anyway if I have any, it will be straight down to the fag shop so best to resist!

Squizz, good luck with quitting the fags. Why not pop onto the giving up smoking thread for some support, there are some really wonderful people on there at different stages of quitting. I started that thread back in May 2007 when I was still smoking, managed to finally quit in the July of that year I think it was after many many false starts (a bit like my drinking habit!). But the support I got from the people on there helped me along and helped me stick to it. I read everyday but don't post as much now, Sue is the main contributor on there now :A she is amazing giving so much time to everyone. If you post on there I guarantee you you will receive a PM from her within a few days with so much support and advice.
Good luck xxDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Thanks Jo - I'll take a look!! I'm doing the Boots scheme, they do a 10 minute consultation and I get five week's worth of my choice of NRT products for the price of one prescription - I use Niquitin minis and they are £13.99 so it has already saved me money. I am popping in on Monday for my next supply!AF days in Feb 2010 - 2 :A

I have fairy lights draped over the top of a curtain rail all year round, I tend to only put them on at weekends so it's a treat. They're so pretty & always make me smile@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Yup, Boots are good with the NRT and support. Please do stick at it, at times it can feel so rough but each craving only lasts around 1 minute or less providing you don't dwell on it. If you feel one, busy yourself, busy your hands and your mind. The cravings will come further and further apart, till you suddenly realise you don't have them much at all. You will start to feel so much better, though you might find during the first couple of weeks your sleep pattern changes, you may get a cough as your lungs detox and you might even get a bit of a headache, though this doesn't happen to everyone. It's worth it though, cos these side effects don't last long. Good luck xDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
