Honeybear I am giving it up completely.

I really need to save the money and tbh I'm getting fed up of waking up the morning after a session and feeling rubbish until about 4pm the next day lol.

So zero amount allowed all year
    Good for you, sweets :T

kittie - pour the voddy down the drain - I poured down some sherry couple of months back and that was the best thing that I have done for a long time

Hey - they say better late than never but am unsure. Tiptoed in here towards the back end of last year and then fell out again but really want to make a difference in 2010. Is it too late to sign up to the Jan challenge Honey? If not I'd like to pledge 18 AFD's for Jan please and would value being co-opted into the group and welcome your support in achieving and hopefully zooming through my target - sadly not able to count today as one but baby steps ....

    Happy New Year all!

Budgie - loved the A-Z, you are very thoughtful and clever.
Wasn't quite as moderate as I hoped last night but not too bad today. I stopped drinking about 1.30 am and then haven't had anything today but juice - can I count this as my first AF day?
    Hello saorsie - welcome back

    take care xx

Popping in to say Happy New Year everyone. Marru, I managed to add just two more to my December total so I got to 5/10.

Honeybear, please would you sign me on for 16 in January.

My new year resolution is to have a not drinking day after any day I do drink. My logic is to take away the shall I shan't I fuss and hopefully rack up more AFDs than I did in 2009.

    Sleep well everyone!

Edited to add - Budgie, thank you for the AtoZ poem and I'll try to represent us W's better in January. Funny how when I chose that user name I was thinking about my debt. I never expected to find such great support for this journey from all you guys - Thanks!!! Reaches out to Winebox across the ether and waves a lot!! And gives Budgie a huge thank you hug!

Saorsie - welcome back and good luck for January!!

And forgot to say today was AF after drinking last night so my resolution is so far so good.

    Morning all:hello:,

I finished off an open bottle of wine last night, so I was not AF. Now I'm left with a bottle of sparkling rose and an Italian white - both unopened. So I'm hoping to spend zero on alcohol this month!

    One for Honey Bear today

    Good Luck

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Happy New Year Bismarck.......and thank you
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

    and to you.

thank yourself first...and always remember how important you are in this.

To anyone with thoughts about going to AA, I'd say give it a chance because, if you're anything like me (!) you'll pick up a whole load of quotes that just help it all make sense in your head. There are some old veterans there who have a lifetime of good advice,,,,

I'd said something about what I'd done etc and quietly, after the meeting he just said "remember to forgive yourself".

another thought for the day is that I met some VERY clever people there...some who you'd never believe could possibily have an issue....it helped me realise I wasn't dumb and stupid....just vulnerable.

    And I certainy wasn't alone.

    take care everyone!

You would all be sooooooooo proud of me!!! The recycling lorry has just been round. They are really nice guys and they always wave at Piglet....so I left the last remaining bottles of wine I had on top of my recycling box for them!!! NO ALCOHOL IN THE HOUSE!! Yippee!!!

    xx
    awesome.

    well done.

    "whatever it takes"

I had some alcohol in the house for a few days and did actually have it calling to me when we had a minor row.

Another one of those parallel iniverse things....I was calm enough to know what would have happened if I'd had one.

mainly, it would not have helped one bit.

and made a lot of things worse.....

it was still there as an increased risk.

do whatever it takes....it's worth it.
