Ooops did`nt mean to offend RA:o:o:o

Actually I remember an article about losing control of bodily functions from alcohol misuse & some years ago my exOH would try to use the wardrobe as a toilet after he`d downed best part of a bottle of spirit....so I know this drug has far reaching unpleasant consequences. I struggled to come to terms with someone I knew acting in this way & that I did`nt understand....it effected me quite deeply actually.

In many ways the bad stuff I have seen over the years has made me even more determined to stay off it for good.

Whooo that was a bit deep & not sure where it came from...just something I have never shared but do feel better for my little self therapy post.:o:o

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • Morning everyone, I had a lovely night's sleep and have woken up before the alarm. Felt really tired and low yesterday evening but got an early night and I feel a lot better for it!

    Have a good day everyone.

Nothing to report, have been having a few each evening. Think I'm on on 9/21? Target not going to be acheived. Will dust myself off for the January challenge, big hopes and dreams for 2010...

    Hello Everyone!

I'm sorry I've been absent, but have been in hospital for two and a bit weeks with a ruptured spleen and complications (don't ask!). Anyway, I got out yesterday, home for Xmas :j, I'm a whole lot better than I was, and I'm completely banned from drinking until at least February (even though I didn't intend to drink any more anyway, being told not to in the strongest terms does help a lot.)

So, for December so far, 22 AF days for me!

I wouldn't recommend my method for staying off the sauce though. My stomach don't half sting, and I can't remain sitting up like I am now for more than a few minutes at the mo (have to lie down, stay at 45 degrees or slouch or stand, basically) so I'll be a bit elusive for the next couple of weeks.

Hope everyone's doing well, I've missed you lot, and have a great week.

    Snowy :).

Snowy - OUCH!!! Glad you are feeling better and back with us.

I can report that I have now finally beaten the dreaded swine flu and am allowed to move to potential MIL's house to wait for the festives. I have had to cut down my plans on baking thou. So better get to the shower and get packing so that we can take off. Still a bit wobbly thou.

    Morning all

How's it going? Looking blooming chilly out there today, still got an ice rink for a road, but finally had an amazing idea yesterday (after a week of snow ) that wouldn't it be a good idea to put the welly boots on that Fay sent me earlier in the year rather than slide up the road in my trainers  I strode purposefully over the shop last night whilst all around me were people falling 'aris over elbow :D

Oh and what a result we had last night! As I said yesterday about next door's delivery of a v. heavy glass TV stand for their brand new 50" TV (widescreen, flat screen, HD, yada yada yada ) well won't bore you with the details but they came home and took it. Later in the evening I noticed their 'old' TV stand outside the door on the path. It's known around here that if you don't want something you just leave it outside the front door and the magical 'we take anything when you're not looking' fairies come in the middle of the night and an remove it. Old??.....my 'aris!! It's the most beautiful 3 tiered glass shelf thing with metal legs, it's huge, longer than my arm span but fits perfectly in my alcove. So I asked if I could have it, then me and OH had a bit of a struggle getting it in cos it's weighs a ton, but it looks beautiful :D

Oh and just this minute had another result! Someone, not 2 minutes away is giving away a girly dresser with vanity mirror and stool on Freecycle! I've got it, gotta pick up at 5pm. That's an unexpected crimbo present for DD2..for free :D:D

OH has made arrangements to go out on New Years Eve and so is DD1 so that's me and the kids home alone this year. I might take my mum down the Toby Cavery for an early sit down dinner then will sit in front of the box (which is sat on my new glass thingamy :D) and watch the crap they make us have to endure on the telly. What's everyone else doing this year?

Hope you are all having a good day?

    xx
