Hello everyone!
I have just been to my first AA meeting. I would LOVE to be able to control my drinking, and be a social drinker....but I know that is impossible for me.
For me, as they say, one drink is never enough. I have tried so hard to keep within my limits, and as I am staggering about pouring 'just one more eensy one' I promise myself it really will be the last one...until the next day in Asda when I am buying another litre bottle to replace the one I got through in one and a half days. That's the trouble with drinking alone, there is no one there to remind you you have had enough :rotfl:
So, it's nearly Christmas and Steph decides to quit drinking. WHY do I keep thinking about that scene in Airplane, where Lloyd Bridges keeps popping up with an inane grin saying things like 'sure picked the wrong time to give up drinkin'/shmokin'/sniffin coke!'
Sober for the last two days.
Look forward to getting to know you
