    Hi all

Grim day here, rain lashing against windows.

Great to have you back BHB, as the longer you were missing I began to fear the worst. Well done on getting the units under control and hopefully we'll hear lots from you this week as your bored :D

Sorry about your horrendous night jo, hope everything OK with DD1 and that you have a peaceful and sober evening and a good night's sleep tonight.

Well done ange on your 100 days :T upwards and onwards to your next milestone!

Good luck YM, on the first day of your challenge. It was a heavy post for first thing in the morning but I was expecting it. MissP, I can understand where you're coming from. My next challenge is to be a bit more controlled on the nights when I am drinking. I think it's because my tolerance has been weakened by AF days. I feel so washed out and dehydrated and I know I wasn't like that when I was drinking every night. Not that I'm recommending that of course :D

Good luck to all on 72hr challenge.

I can see where you're coming from GC, but what other option is there. As far as I can see there's three options:

    a) carry on drinking at present levels
    b) Drink moderately
    c) Stop drinking

I know I need to try option C. Surely theres only one WAY to do that thats just to stop?

True, but HOW are you going to just stop? It is not that easy just to stop, as reading this thread tells us.

This is what you wrote a few months ago:
So I know a decision has to be made. Alcohol or my family. And I know what I chose. The thought of losing my family is devastating. I know now its all or nothing. So from now on I HAVE to say I'm a non-drinker. Just can't afford the fallout that happens each time I go overboard.

Sorry to sound so serious on a Saturday morning (and a sunny one at that!!). I'm actually feeling quite happy now. I know what I need to do and I can get on with enjoying my life.

If methods you have used in the past have not worked, you may need to try different methods.
  • Hello All :hello: Haven't had access to a computer for a few days so I'm very behind with what everyone has been doing. From the little bit of catching up I have been able to do though it seems that lots of you need hugs so if mine will help here they are :grouphug:.
I have one more AF day to report please from last week, that's 2 so far for December. Friday and Saturday were very definitely NOT AF and I drank yesterday as well so this week I feel more than ready to join the Mon to Wednesday challenge. Looking forward to it actually which is very strange .
    Have a good day

I know. Its very hard though and I'm not the best at sticking to something. But I will do it.

I don't think I would say he is to 'blame'. He is depressed. That is an illness. If he had cancer I don't think we would be saying he is to 'blame'. And I wouldn't say that with depression. There is only one person who pours drink down our throats. That is ourselves.
BB is a star, and she should not feel bad about herself. Coping strategies for life need to be learnt when we stop drinking

Sorry...Maybe 'Blame' is the wrong word but his illness is the REASON that BB is under so much pressure and I am sure that he realises this which is why he is being so good about her 'incident' the other night.

So as I said maybe counselling would help BOTH of them to cope better......Him with his depression....Her with her drinking and both of them with their relationship.
