What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Morning all

Well done ange on the 100 days :T very impressive :T

Well Guam today and well done to maman and spot on squizz as Guam stands for

    Give Up Alcohol Monday.

I have been a member of this thread for a while now and have been a cutter downer and it is just not working for me. OK I abstain for a few days but my consumption when I do drink is about 10/12 cans a day ( 13 yesterday ) so something has got to give as I cannot carry on like this :o

I was thinking about why I find it harder than when I gave up smoking and the answer was that when I gave up I did not have just 1 or 2 fags occasionally I just stopped. I need to do this with the drink so that is where I am today. Not really bothererd with the festive season as I am working all over Xmas so would not have been drinking anyway and my Family need there Dad/partner back not someone who just sits in at night and gets his thrills and pleasure from a can or 2

Feeling positive and kind of free like I have cast off my shackles and have escaped from a kind of prison. Would have been nice to have the odd one but the first would lead to 10...for me anyway.

Will post later with my first AF day of the month as my target ATM is to not drink Today.

Sorry for the deep post first thing but had to be done

With all of you supporting me along the way I do not feel alone in this.

Thank you for reading and being there :T

Morning YM, can I tag along with you on your journey?

Had a nightmare of a night and desperately want to stay in bed. Got in bed last night at 10pm for a lovely early night, was in bed about 10 minutes when OH ran in and told me to get up. My eldest DD had been attacked by her ex-bf with a crow bar, he tried to drag her out of her now bf's car but she managed to get the door shut and he drove off and he smashed the car with the crowbar, we went straight to the police station and ex-bf was texting her whilst we were there saying that her bf had better watch his back. All very scary stuff, he's already prohibited from entering the site at her school cos he tried to attack her a few months ago.

Plus DD2 has a temperature of 39 at the moment and a cough that sounds frightenly like whooping cough so will be carting her off to the surgery as soon as it opens.

So what with her coughing and me worrying I've not slept :(

Hope you all have a better day than me :)

    xx

  • Jo I just don't know what to say, I hope both your girls are okay, and you...take care of you. There's no FAQ on this parenting business is there.

YM Great post. Totally understandwhat you mean in relation to the smoking similarities. Go for it !

Me, looking forward to at least a week off the sauce after quite a few stellas this weekend, and incident involving split contact lense in eye, minor injuries unit and absolute agony. Won't bore you with it but will never take simple blinking for granted again.
