Hi there eselt, good to hear from you again. We really don't like it when our virtual friends are missing. Hope all is well with you.

Welcome Skintbutsolvent, good to have you on board. Don't worry about not having a target perhaps you could try for just one alcohol free (AF) day and ask GG (doing scores on the doors for November) to post it up for you. You'l feel really good about yourself and who knows where it might lead? Are you hoping to give up completely or cut down?

I'm not in debt either but I figured I would definitely save money if I cut down. Counting up what you save if you don't drink is a good motivator. We saved thousands between us last month!!;)

Hope the back's a bit better Budgie and that everyone's having ahappy time.

I'm struggling a bit tonight but I know I won't give in. It's been a bit of a boring day and the weather is miserable so it's making me feel the same. But I've taken my Kudzu, Milk Thistle and B complex, had a massive dinner and I'm determined!!!

    Back later.

    You don't have to drink.
If there is one thing that sobriety has taught me, it is that in the past I felt I couldn't NOT drink, but in fact, I can. I can not drink.
    I found this amazing.
I can go to the pub and not drink. If I felt I wanted to drink, I wouldn't go to the pub. The choice is mine.

Instead of being angry at yourself, you could decide to try something different. Use this thread and some other method of being AF. This thread alone is not keeping your drinking down to limits that you're happy with, so perhaps investigate other methods too.

Thanks for your post and the thoughts behind it. I chose to drink last night in the pub. I have been to pubs before and not drunk alcohol. I have tried the units counting over the weekend but that didn't work for me as I lost count and went oh blow it. I want to get to 12 AF days this month as I haven't hit my target since May. If I decide to go to the pub tomorrow I will either not drink or try the first and last drink as a different approach. Counting to two instead. I managed to count the 3 ciders and 1 wine last night but that's not a level of drinking I was happy with as I talked drunken rubbish at my friend. Although she was drunken too so no harm done but a bit embarrassed this morning.

Well done CA and to Dizzy duck and everyone else who's doing well!
