Hi. I feel a bit of a fraud posting here as I'm not in debt, but only cos I went bancrupt over 2yrs ago. Someone on 'money saving in relationships' suggested I pop in here.
I am lonely, fed up and out of touch with pretty much everyone. Alcohol is my nly way to chill out and unwind. But I want to stop!
Can I join you?0 -
Hello all
last night was AF for me :j!
Popped into Mr T's for Jucee Summer Fruits squash, soda water to go with the lime cordial and Irn Bru (yes, I'm a Scottish cliche!).
TBH it was just as well there was no wine in the house coz I would have had some - just felt like something was missingbut I'm hoping that's coz I'm breaking a long formed habit!
It's weird coz I was AF last Friday coz I was all snuffy and didn't miss it and there was wine in the house!
Anyway will stop waffling and off for a Lemsip - do have a cold but it's not coming to anything just bunged up. Actually I read that more people get cirrhosis from paracetamol than alcohol - hmm all these times I've taken paracetamol for hang overs ........
Sorry I do witter on
take care xx
Where did you read that? I'd be interested in that article.0 -

Of course you can!!
Welcome
You'll find plenty of support and people just to chat to
Most start by pledging a number of days in the month that they are going to be alcohol free. Don't worry if you're not up to that yet, just join in with the banter and jump in when you're ready
I'm not in debt either btw - I don't think it's a requirement for postingNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh

Welcome
I am not in debt either as I am an undischarged BR but you will have to go a long way to meet nicer, lovelier people than those who are on here :T0 -

Me too, CA, and I usually manage this, but had started to over-indulge on my only non-AF night, and have had to really, really watch myself.
15 for me please, GG. And I've changed my target to 25, if that's OK with you?
Hope everybody is doing well.

 Hello Skintbutsolvent, welcome to the thread - there are lovely people here, non judgmental and very supportive.
I think everyone here has used alcohol as their principle way of chilling out at some point or other or used it to cope with stress/cover up unhappiness so we all know where you're coming from.
there's a lot of strategies being used here, some people want to cut down others give up, some find target setting useful others are 'one day at a time', whatever you want to do just leap in.Trying to keep in budget.

Aw, thanks to you all for the welcome! I don't feel ready for any sort of a target, but I hope seeing you all doing it will help me be ready.0
