    Welcome SkintBSol.

I also went bankrupt (a few years ago now) and am now discharged. The stress of debt certainly tipped my drinking over the edge as I couldn't figure any way out of it and just drank to forget all the worry for a while. I don't have access to any credit (which is a good thing?!) and have to live within my means now but thats not such a bad thing. I thought going bankrupt was the worse possible thing ever-but actually the day after the sun came up and the world didn't stop and the pestering from banks and credit card companies stopped and the relief seemed to have a direct effect on my ability to cut down my drinking, I felt I could start living again rather than drown my worries in drink. I think in these times of recession bankrupsy will become the new black...........

Best of luck to everyone today, welcome to all the new people and hello to old freinds...and congrats to Jo, you must be so proud.

:hello: Quick hello to everyone and a big welcome back to Miss P lovely to have you posting again. Shouldn't have but did laugh at your birthday present!

I know lots of you cope better with no alcohol in the house but funnily enough I like seeing my kitchen wine rack looking really full. It's when it's empty (and the recycling's full to overflowing) that I think OMG we drank all that  It's a good feeling when I only have to replace some of it when I go shopping rather than starting afresh each week or even going out for more midweek as sometimes used to happen. Of course I'm speaking from a cutter-down perspective.

Any luck with the lardloss Miss P, and are you planning to give up completely now you're back or just cut down?

I'm up for TFT. Back later.
  • Hello Maman!! :hello:

Have to admit the wine rack does look lovely all full up. Maybe that will stop me drinking it? I can but hope!

I'm going for cutting down again. My mid-week drinking has been creeping up again so my first aim is to stop that if possible.

    Miss P
    xx

  • Where did you read that? I'd be interested in that article.

Hi GC - sorry I can't remeber where I saw this but it was only a few weeks ago (I remember coz we used in a pub quiz).
Asked OH and he thought it was liver disease/ damage rather than cirrhosis.
Hope everyone is feeling good - another AF night for me and hopefully a TFT.

    xx

Ok, this is mainly aimed at the ladies but boys please don't feel you're excluded :p

I have a subscription to Marie Claire (not for much longer, poss as they're annoying me ) I also read Vogue, Zest & get The Sunday Times, which has it's own magazine & a Style magazine. Generally once I've read them they go into recycling unless I really want to keep them so if anyone would like some back copies I'm happy to post them over :D

have to confess that I do sometimes read them in the bath though... :o
