Hello everyone,
Tonight would normally have been one of those non AF ones due to being tired and using drinking as an excuse for not to have to do anything i.e. conveniently forget all the things that need doing. So I am trying to allow myself an evening off from all those things without having to drink. So far tea, chocolate and cheesy potato mash with chicken have been working (not all at the same time, mind). Perhaps some crackers and ginger ale later as I do feel a bit pekish (sp?) still. Oh and early to bed..."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Evening,
The 'one day at a time' approach seems to work well for a lot of folks, that's the mindset I'm trying to maintain. As well as the joy of going to bed sober and reading for a bit, then switching the light off knowing you're going to get a good night's sleep and not be awake at 4am with the horrors.

Thanks yellow monkey for the 'hello'
Have come to the conclusion over the months that I have to take the one day at a time approach. If I have a drink one night I tend to find myself back to drinking everynight, maybe having 2 bottles of wine instead of 1, kidding myself that half a bottle of vodka would be better be better for my waistline. Asked myself a bit of a turning point question a while back. 'What has drink done for you?' Whilst it hasn't (I hope) had any MAJOR effects on my health, relationships and finances it certainly hasn't done any facet of my life any favours. So why bother drinking??
So as I said before...Today i wont be drinking!
Good luck all. xLBM 10/08 £12510.74/0
