Well done for going to the gym Honeybear.

Indeed it is. Very well done :T :T

Thanks.:A 40% seems like quite a lot to me. When I told my DH he said "So that means you have drunk 60% of the year." He is so positive.

I am feeling like I want to lose a bit (or a lot!:o) of weight and I have been exercising this past week but I think I will start a diet tomorrow as well. That should help me cut down on alcohol when I do drink.

  • Hello HB - well done on the non-alcoholic treats!

Jo saved my !!! earlier as I moaned via text - remembered the hungrythingmy and so rahter than grab purse and head for the vino made some HM garlic mozerrella bread and scoffed some wierd bean/soya/tomato type casserole thingmy and made a huge pot of soup!

    Now am stuffed to bursting.

Mentioned this to Jo - last year's DS's birthday was the last time I bought a whole bottle of wine myself - but its been torture cutting down - so I have been 'giving up' for a year now.

Just puts it into perspective, bit fed up giving up - I think not drinking is easier for me. Read a bit of my book today - chapter on coping with social/drinking situations. great info in that ...........I did OK when away but it was so much eaiser and better managed (by me) from reading bits in the book :)

I ate before our meals out (they were late and often followed several drinks) so that i wasnt hungry and therefore might 'drink' to fill the gap
Luckily any alcoholic beverages have to be paid for seperately so the drinks on the table when eating were normally water.
We ate so late that mostly we went up to bed afterwards except those who wanted to go to the bar.........so I slipped off unnoticed
Got up and managed breakfast most mornings instead of just not bothering

I need to remember the 'why its better bits....' like:

I did manage to get up and out one morning by 7am to let me go to the botanic garden with 2 others on the trip - which I wouldn't have managed to do if I was drunk the night before

No terrible 'oh god what did I do or say' things
No OMG moments when remembering being stupid
No waking up to wierd men in the bed (!!!!!) - doesnt normally happen but once with OH I woke up honestly not knowing who I was with (HIM) or where I was - NOT a nice feeling
Still skint as contributed to rounds when I needed to but happy to go with the flow of that rahter than make a scene about not drinking........
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

I think reviewing progress & seeing how good things are when AF (or with less A, if you're like me) is really important. Pleased that the book is helping too :)

ps.well done to Jo for coming to the rescue ;)
