have a busy day ahead as brother and gf arriving later and house is its usual mess, however tidying/cleaning with a 7 yr old and 3 yr old twins whos idea of play is to get everything out/play with water/glue/paper etc. I don't think its really going to make a lot of difference
That is tidying when you're 7 & 3, isn't it? :rotfl:@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -

Keep at it BHB, you're obviously well on your way to reduction target. Do they say whether it's better to balance all the 'allowed' units through the week or save them up for e.g.weekend? We've talked about it before on here but I hate being restricted.
They suggest the best way is to have 1 or 2 days AF in the week. Then that gives me 28 units over 5 days, which then seems again too much. 21 units over 5 days seems a preferable target for me eventually.
However, as I'm struggling to get an AF day at all at the moment, we have decided that to spread my weekly reduction target over 7 days. They say that, in some ways, it is better if you have exactly the same amount each day then gradually reduce that amount, then you don't do what I was doing earlier in the year and having an AF day , then making up for it by having double the next  .

Morning all
Can't stop as I'm taking 2 of the kids and my mum to my hairdressers in a minute, we are all being cut today, then DS to the barbers for a mohawk, won't look as menacing as one of his front teeth has fallen out, he looks too cute :rotfl: all that's left is OH, I shall be shaving his head when I get backwe could probably make a wig with all the hair going today!
Feeling positive for an AF Friday, I'm actually prefering being sober now to being tipsy or drunk, so much more has been done in this house and silly stuff like the mountain of washing up that 5 of us creates is not a chore anymore, I just do it without noticing, anything that meant that I had to do something that wasn't sitting down vegging was a chore, not anymore
Early days, I know, just day 18 here but wow what a difference 17 days sobriety makes, the cloud has lifted completely, don't know if I look any different, don't look in the mirror often (all part of my drinking disease), but after I've had my hair cut and I look half decent I will scan my face and see if it looks any different, you never know I might post up a picture of me with tidy hair later or tomorrow
Hope you all have a lovely day, better drag a comb through DD2's hair before the hairdresser tackles it....DD2's nickname is Russell Brand for obvious reasons

Morning Andy,
When I had a reduction detox (or 'community detox' so they called it) last year, I 'had' to have exactly the same amount of units per day, or rather cans as I was drinking stella. Started on 5 cans per night then each week dropped one. Had to drink the set amount even if I didn't want it. Which strangely, as I was being told to drink it all the appeal had gone (that's the rebel in me
). Getting down to two then one was the hardest cos I had quite a decision, ie, did I drink it straight away then have nothing all evening, did I save it till later but think about it all evening, or did I try and space it out all night till it went cold
this was when I realised I had a serious drinking problem, every thought was about drinking
But doing it this way meant that your body gets used to a smaller amount of alcohol in a controlled way, you are not stopping completely and risking dangerous withdrawals, plus 'they say' by reducing gradually, your body is getting used to 'surviving' on less and so the cravings should be less when you eventually stop....dunno bout that bit
Good luck, you doing fine

GG, can you put me down for 30 days in November please.
Trying hard to catch up with posts, and am so impressed by how people are managing not to drink or to keep cutting down in the face of bad things happening in their lives.
Hope you enjoyed the Marian Keyes book, Jo.
My next book recommendation would be Arthur Smith's autobiography "My Name is Daphne Fairfax"). It's funny and interesting AND it was hearing him read on the radio the bit where he describes how he nearly died from acute pancreatitis that was the final straw for me and drink. I haven't had a drink since that day five and a half months ago:T .

That sounds great, unfortunately I've just started another Marian Keyes one....and you know how long it takes me to get through a book  used to read a couple of books a week when I worked in London and travelling on the train, now I drive to work and have the kids constantly on my case in the evening I only get a few pages read at a time :rotfl:
I will see if they've got it in the libraryDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

I keep trying to read 3 books at the same time and end up finishing none of them. I still haven't read all the ones I got for last Christmas:eek:. At least I've stopped buying them now (MSE and no space).0
