  • Hi everyone,

I'm posting now as I might not get online tonight. I am supposed to be starting to write an assignment, but am putting it off for a few more mins, to write this!

One more AFD for me please Fay :D

It's a fantastically gorgeous day today - like Summer only better, as it isn't boiling hot, but the sun is shining..... ahhhhhhhh lovely :j

Am planning on being AF today. There's none in the house and I am not going out to the shops, so it should stay that way.

Anyway - good luck to everyone for today's AFness. I had really better get my assignment started...........

    Hugs

  • Hi everyone,

this thread moves so quickly! I plan to respond to certain posts but by the time I get to the end, I've forgotten who said what - I will have to start making notes!!

HB - on everyone elses behalf, thank you for the hugs which you give out in abundance - honeybear hugs really are the best!!!

GC & H480 - you are an inspiration. Most of us on this thread are here to both give and receive support as we know we still have a long way to go - it helps to know there are people out there who have succeeded and are still willing to take the time to support others - thank you.

To everyone having relationship problems, I know how you feel. I divorced my first husband 12 years ago but still feel the pain, it is getting easier but I don't expect it ever to completely go away. I am just slowly learning to live with it.

I am having a much better week this week. Haven't had anything since that awful Friday and left hubby to drink the wine we had. The cravings are starting to creep back but I have put my AF since date on my sig and desparately do not want to change it so that is keeping me motivated. I have been here before soooo many times, I really want this time to be different, hopefully Iwill be strong enough this time.

    * 5 days for me now please Fay - and thanks for scoring - you are doing a great job *

Hubby gets paid on Friday so going to transfer my savings so far into my savings account - something to look forward to instead of the wine.

    Love and hugs to all.

    MOS x

I think we just have to read Icelandicmaiden and Greypilgrims' posts to know that.

Just for the record, although some times I post that it's going great and that I feel like never touching beer again, there ARE still times when I want to strip off naked and dive into a vat of the stuff at the local brewery and not come out again until it's all gone.

    :)

I just don't want to paint myself as some sort of superhuman saint type person.

    Do I Drink Too Much?

Today, 21:00 on BBC Two (except Northern Ireland (Analogue), Wales (Analogue))

    Synopsis

Alcohol is by far the most widely used drug - and a dangerous one at that. So why are so many of us drinking over the recommended limits?
Why does alcohol have such a powerful grip on us? How much of our relationship with this drug is written in our genes? What are the real dangers of our children drinking too young?

Shall record that one, I think......

So I do go on & off but it's so beautiful here I went for a run in my local park. I did the on off thing, running for 2 minutes then walking for 1 so like you I'm looking to build it up.

    :T :T :T :T - well done HB

Clicky - this is what I did last year. Really good way. I NEVER thought I would be able to run 5 metres, never mind kilometres (after MANY years of smoking), but I now run 5k twice a week :)

    Hello,

I was AF last night (Fay 11 for me please) but not tonight. I did 2 hours overtime and went to pick up DD from after school club straight after work. I had to carry this kicking and screaming thing (who had wet herself) into the car so as soon as I got home I poured a glass and it is gone now.

I guess nothing productive gets done today so I might just catch up on Strictly until that programme at nine.

    Byeeee....

I thought the same - his eyes looked the same as a person who is off their head on something. Oh dear if he was, after all his reported problems with substances.

Not AF tonight - 2 glasses of ginger wine - no more after this one.

Back on the AF wagon tomorrow as I can't cover up the pain I feel with A. I caved in tonight as I feel so numb and believe me the A does not make it any better
