HB 'Messy'? You know, you have really brought something home to me by using that word!! I mean, thanks for being straight with me and not saying 'it's OK'!! I might even get one of those titchy bottles of wine for next Sat. Hope you are OK too xx

    :o

Hope it helps, wasn't looking to be harsh or anything

But, as wel all know, when you can't remember stuff then messy is probably a good way to describe it. Have been there & I hated it :(

And I'm good - had a full on weekend with a mate so no AF & very little money! But it was good :D

  • Just a quickie, as bed time soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone, by the way.

One more AFD for me please Fay. Feeling good because of it too.

Talking of things to look forward to, instead of booze, we had a film and munchies night last night. Nice pop (I had apple juice actually), lots of crisps/popcorn and we watched some DVDs.

Those kind of nights used to involve me drinking lots of beer or voddy or whatever, but I've found it's actually much more fun staying sober. Not only can I enjoy and remember the films (!) but I don't fall asleep early either and I have a hangover free Sunday, so I get to enjoy the next day too (it generally used to be a write-off). ;)

I did eat far too many crisps last night though, ha ha

    Have a lovely evening everyone.

    Hugs,

  • Just popping in to say hi, and update my figures. Spent last night and this evening watching Xfactor and Doc Martin. YM I hope you are feeling better soon, I think this time of year has a great affect on people, the dark nights and lack of sunshine.

Welcome shaggydoo, sorry if thats wrong, once I'm on typing I forget the correct spellings!!

So Sad Angel, that drink from Tesco sounds lovely, will definately look that one up. I love sparkling water, but something with flavour would be nice for a change.:D

I'm on 11/30 for October, and if my memory serves me correct 26/100 of my challenge. I am now starting to seriously think about staying AF when my challenge finishes, as I realize it is so much better, in so many ways. I guess we all knew that before anyway did'nt we, it just takes one hell of a journey for us to accept it.

Hope everyone is where they want to be this evening.:D

    Hello,

I am back home. Actually have been for awhile but had to watch XF on catchup. Blimming twins!!!

Anyway, I had fantastic weekend with BF and can declare 10 AFDs for me please Fay (when you are back).

Need to head to bed as very busy week ahead. I offered to do some over time as I will need 7 days off during the half term and will find tomorrow if that is ok. Planning on going to narrow boat trip for a week with DD, BF and 3 dogs :j.

One thing I would like to say:
    - If you have broken your leg - you would go to a doctor
    - If you have found a lump - you would go to a doctor
    - If you feel depressed - FOR GOODNESS SAKE - GO AND SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!

I only went to get help when I hit rock bottom and that saved my life. If this is how you feel please please don't let it go that bad!!

This wasn't directed to anyone particular but if it resonates with who ever is reading this then go and do something about it, please!

  • Hi all :hello:

I haven't done very well this weekend.

MOS: I have had to check that daughters are home in the early hours of the morning when I've let them in the previous night and not remembered. Terrible. Such a bad example too.

I don't normally have any wine on Fridays any more, but allowed myself two glasses this week and actually stuck to that, which was good, so felt OK yesterday.

But then last night I still had about 1.5 bottles of wine, which made me feel drunk and then ill today. I didn't think any of my DDs were aware, but DD2 (age almost 16) asked me if I remembered something she had told me today, and I couldn't. This has happened too many times now. I wish I could be like Graeme, Mollypolly, etc who have completely given up drinking. I'm fine all week, but then have to drink so much on a Saturday night, and then feel ill on Sundays, which is such a waste. I went to the gym, which made me feel better, then to see my parents, which was lovely. But I still feel very, very tired.

But I just feel that I really look forward to being able to have my wine on a Saturday, I feel panicky when I swear to myself that I will go completely AF. What would I have to look forward to? I know it's one day at a time, but I just don't know if I could do it.

    Anyway, enough of my ramblings

Have a good week everybody xx

The thought of giving up forever used to feel my with dread. I used to get panicky if I thought I would have to celebrate b'days, weddings, etc without drink.
I now know that is my alcoholism talking, and it wants me to drink.
I can do all these things without drink, and enjoy them too.

I go to the pub still, but don't drink 15 pints of coke. I don't like coke that much. However, I would drink 15 pints of Guinness, and I didn't like it that much. This is my alcoholism

If you want to be AF enough, and will do ANYTHING to get it, it is there for the taking. It won't be easy, but it is possible.

Going to the pub, don't think I can do that AF. More to the point I don't want to do that. Can't explain it, other than this nagging feeling that pub = alcohol.

11/22 feeling ever so tired, in bed by 10, up at 6, but still want more shuteye. Seasonal change ?

    Morning all!

I'm creeping sheepishly back in. Had my couple of weeks break and the drinking has been slowly creeping back up. Because I've been doing lots of exercise I've gotten into the habit of thinking I can "spend" those calories on drink. Which has slowed my weight loss right down. Just not good enough!!!

So can I re-join the challenge please Fay (sorry to muck up the figures). There are 20 days left in October and I want to be AF for 15 of them please! Average cost saving £3 per AF day.

Its a lovely day here so me and Piglet are going colelcting autumn leaves so he can make a picture. Been trying the last couple of weeks to spend more time with him - housework can always wait!:rotfl:

Hope to be able to catch up on the thread soon. Moves at a pace this one. Hope everyone is ok!

  • Hello

Just about to catch up and post a list in a bit - I am hoping that everyone is well and splendid :).

Of course you can rejoin - no worries I will write you in my lovely book!

Back in two ticks, dad's got ownership on the younglings and I am about to wield a paint brush in a bit to finish a room at OH's and do some cleaning.

Need to figure out how to get home .........:)
