Hope everyone's having a good weekend, I've got the usual today, washing and shopping but am unhungovered so will be doing it with a smile on my face :D

Can you come & do mine too Jo? :D

I'm having a sh**e weekend as I have found out my now ex OH has hooked up with someone new.

Trying not to use alcohol to cope - drank half a bottle of red wine last night which took ages. The other half went in a stew so none left and trying hard not to open a bottle of white tonight. I know it won't take the pain away, just need to work through it.

House is cleaned - better get on with the other bits and bobs then I suppose

Sorry to hear that FUAS but well done on only half a bottle....be strong & not using alcohol to cope means you are finding other ways to move on....I know how that pain can hurt very deeply but get through these few days & you will start seeing the light again. <<<HUGS>>>
  • Shall be off to Tesco`s too soon.....can`t remember who suggested on here but they do an Italian Syrah Grape drink...slightly sparkling (2 for £1.50 ish) & its lovely....got that red wine taste (& looks like wine too) but without the alcohol!! hmmmm can you get addicted to a soft drink??

Having a rest day here....got lots to do but zero motivation.

Decided I may sort wardrobes....getting cold & as usual can`t find anything to wear!

Very sad news about Stephen Gately....33 is so young...news like this sort of makes you realise that life is so short & we must appreciate what we have.

  • Hi all

Have not posted much since I found my way out of the dark place and, to be honest, I dont think I am really out of it.

I have a lovely family and a good job but I am always thinking about " What if " The latest is that I live in a council house and if they change tenancy agreements I may lose my security that I have regarding housing. Nothing has happened to suddenly make me think this it just " Popped up". Then i get to thinking I will have no home and will have failed my family.

I always seem to think of the bad that can happen and I think I may be suffering from some sort of depression. I dont wont to go to the doctors about this and hopefully can reboot my thought process to stop thinking about the bad and also stop being jealous of other people and what they have - or seem to have

Sorry for the deep post but just want to get it out really.

    Take care

I am having an AF day today and I'm planning on going out this evening to distract myself from thoughts of booze.:)

    Hi smiley%20holding%20sign%20hi.gifsmiley.hi.gif

Can I join in please? I have just realised I have drunk 40 units of alcohol this week:eek: I know this is neither healthy or a good use of my money.

Do you get withdrawal symptoms coming off a week of 40 units?
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

 to Shaggydoo. I'm not sure about the units question.

I have been adding extra money to my AF money box and I just put in £10 for today and tomorrow and I counted it up and I have just over £60 in there.:T:j

  • Hello everyone,

I finally feel ready to post again, after an absence of nearly 2 weeks.

I completely relapsed on 28th September and drank loads for 4 consecutive days, then had a couple of days AF (because I felt so ill - I was like the walking dead) and then I went out last Sunday and bought a bottle of vodka and drank over 3/4 of that.

I've been AF since last Sunday, but the whole "episode" has knocked me for 6. I didn't go to AA, I stopped posting, the booze took over for that period and I didn't want to do anything but drink, even thought I felt like carp after day 1 of boozing.

Can't say I've got my head round it yet, but after a week AF and feeling 100% better in every respect, at least I can feel positive again.

I felt pretty damn low for a few days. Very low indeed. I hated being in that dark place. No-one likes feeling so low of course, but when I was there, vodka in hand, it was so hard to crawl out.

There are far too many posts to catch up on, so I apologise for not being abreast of the latest progress and news on here.

Please Fay, could you update my AFD total to 8.

It's nice to be back! :D

    Hugs

Hi Cazza, wondered what had happened to you. Seems you've been there and back again and despite what's happened 8 is a good start to build on for October.

YM, I realised you weren't your usual self this last week or so. I thought you were maybe just cross with yourself for drinking when you were off work. I don't see why anything should happen to your tenancy but that's not really the issue. Why not see the doctor?

Sorry to hear you're down fedupski. Is he a very ex OH or did you still have hopes?

Welcome Shaggydoo. I can't really answer the withdrawl question either but cutting down would be a good start surely?

Well done on the saving 115K and planned AFness tonight.

:hello:to everyone else whether you're at Mr T's or doing something a little more exciting.
