    Im always here fay!

Off to bed now, absolutely exhausted. Had a long day today and an even longer evening! Got by by eating chinese and still on the marian keyes book oh and hot choc chunks obviously!

Had an odd moment today at work when a parent came in to school and had obviously been drinking and was known as normally smelling of drink even in the morning. My boss said that she thought it was disgusting that someone could drink like that especially knowing you have children to look after. Another colleague said that its a terrible illness and alcoholics are consumed by what they are doing with no thought of normality. And the conversation went on between them, me sat in the middle frightened to say anything in case they guessed! Its funny listening to peoples narrow minded opinions when they dont know better or never experienced life as a drinker.

    Night all x

Evening all.....I think I'm probably just going to lurk for a while. Not doing great with this alcohol free at the moment....I will keep trying but feel a bit contradictive posting on here. For some reason I've taken GC's posts of Wednesday evening a bit personal......think I'll just hide for a bit. Take care one and all and much love and good wishes on your quests. xx

    Evening all...
Gromit, I don't think GC's post was aimed at anyone or maybe it was aimed at everyone.. take care out there, and come back soon. xxx

Fay.. we are all here.. (oh no..!) while your kiddies are away.. you are a very strong independant lady, stay positive, you can pm any of us or text.. (pm if you need another number..) we are all in this together... and many of us are lonely, most of the time..

anyway's off to zzz soon, take care lovely people.. xx

    evening all

just thought I would pop in, daughter came round for curry and wine tonight and she is so shattered she has gone to bed already, bless her.

I find it difficult to put into words how I feel most of the time (I am quite shy really) but it really moves me reading some of the posts on here, alcohol is such a demon really, it takes you when you are most vulnerable, most sensitive, most in need of support, most is need of love and understanding and most in need of strength , it pretends it is your friend and will give you love and strength and what does it give you?

Well mostly in the long run heartache, if you are lucky it only hurts you, if not well the damage to others can be astronomically bad, unbelievebly hurtful, incredibly wrong and extremely long lasting to those who matter to you

My daughter is 30 years old she loves me I know and I love her so much and not a day goes by that I don't regret.........................

Your post has really moved me, thanks for your honesty. Don't beat yourself up about what's happened in the past cos you can't change it. It's what you do in the here and now that can make a difference. As GC says, people judge you by your actions now.

Also, I don't know your story, but in my experience through guilt we can 'project' onto other people and torture ourselves. I recently apologised to my dad for something I'd done that I felt had been hurtful to him - I'd been feeling bad about it for years and you know what, he didn't even remember it!

Love is a great healer. Sounds like you're doing everything you can to have a great relationship with your daughter in the here ande now.

Owards and upwards, one day at a time.
