Cheers Dears. I'm getting quite excited. At my most lardy I was hitting 21 stone. The lightest I've ever been in my adult life is 17 stone 7....

  • Hi everyone,

Had a good start to the week, AF Mon and Tues but went out Weds and had some wine, shopping on Thursday and bought a bottle to celebrate my new job, and today I found a bottle of merlot for £2 (I know I shouldn't be telling you - I am bad influence) so gonna have that tonight.

    ** So that's 2 AFD's so far for me Fay **

Hope everyone is well, not had time to read posts for last few days so will catch up later.

    MOS X

I 've not been able to get on the computer for a couple of days so I have a lot of catching up to do.
I had a go at the drinking quiz and I was shocked, I scored 19 points  well over the level at which one has a problem with alcohol. I'm hoping that coming onto this site and keeping a score of my drinking will bring that down considerably. It has certainly given me food for thought. It's very easy to think that because I don't 'crave' a drink (I just enjoy having a drink), I don't have blackouts or wet/soil myself and I am a 'respectable middleaged/class wine drinker' that I have absolutely nothing in common with the people you see sitting on benches drinking their White Lightning. I have more in common with them than I would like to admit:o; I guess we all do on this thread.
On a more encouraging note I would like to report to fayjmck that I am up to 3 AF days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Sadly I didn't manage it last night and I'm not sure I can manage a totally AF weekend but I'm going to try for at least 1 of the three days (I think of the weekend starting on Friday evening).
    Be strong everyone.
  • Just been catching up with all the posts, what busy people you've been. In particular Weds evening's posts have given me a lot to think about. I've been AF now for two and a half weeks, but I know I need to change my attitude somehow if I'm going to succeed this time. What scares me is that every time I've given up before, I've not only failed, but ended up drinking more than I did before I gave up. So lots of thinking to do here and the many inspirational posts on here are really helping to give me food for thought. I'm very grateful that people share so much of their experiences.
I also took that alcoholic quiz and scored 25, shocking. I'm hoping this will be coming down and down now...

ps Fay that's 8AFDs for me please, you're doing an amazing job :A
