ooops forgot to say its 8 AF for me today.....very tired as done 5 miles `trek` in Edale today & may even need an early night! (11.30 is very early for me:o:o!)
Whoohoo....its Friday tomorrow too!0 -
Hope everyone's OK, it has gone quiet on here at the mo - no doubt you'll all be back when T2GU & I are in bed (not together, you understand).
:rotfl:
After having an extremely early night on an AF day again. I was in bed by 8 last night! I have decided to plan to do something on my AF nights. I think that is part of the problem that when I take alcohol out of my usual night in, it seems really boring and the evening just drags. So my next AF day which I think will be Sunday I am going to plan to do something more than just watch TV/ read / stare at the clock!
So that might mean going round to visit my friend (without the usual bottle of wine!) going to the pictures, going out to eat at a restaurant, doing an exercise video during my danger time etc....etc...HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

.
That's 8 AFs for me, Fay.
115K - I know what you mean about evenings dragging a bit. I did have a tendency to look at the clock all evening, almost willing it to be ten o'clock, at which point the offy would close and that particular temptation would be over for another night. However, what I've found is that if I go and have a bath or shower and get into pyjamas by 8ish I don't feel quite so inclined to nip out again.
I'm actually quite good at resisting temptation so long as it's at a distance. Once I'm in the shop (which I should explain is a general store, so I often go there for milk and papers etc), and the stuff's there in front of me and often ridiculously cheap, I go into a sort of autopilot and find myself buying it. I can't explain that, because my willpower is actually really good with most other things. It's almost like I'm in a trance, I'll get home, and there'll be some booze in the shopping bag that I didn't consciously set out to buy (hence my habit of going to Tesco or Asda before 8.00 am so I physically can't buy booze.)
What I really miss are quiz nights at the pub, but I'm staying away for the moment. I've explained why to my friends, and they're cool with it and supportive, but right now I know if I spent a night there it'd be three hours of me not remotely enjoying myself as I'd be too busy struggling. I will conquer that eventually, I know, but for now I don't want to make things any harder for myself.
Anyway, we all know we're doing the right thing, and speaking for myself I'm functioning a lot better, day on day. The improvement is very gradual, but it's good, and it's for the best. And today I won't drink. Tomorrow can look after itself - today I'll be AF.Proud to be dealing with my debtsDMP Mutual Support Thread member 337

Oddly enough slept like a log last night - lots of thoughts whirring around my head!!
Brother and his chums were here drinking again - which was fine, I wasn't fussed at all. Bigger issues in my head I guess.
Well done to all you you and great posts, discussions etc - we are all on our own little journeys however we get there (doing a silly walk or not)
