Hi we use Green People, it doesn't seem to irritate my son who is very atopic. It can be bought online, at some supermarkets or Health Food Places.

its more likely the chemicals in the products that cause exzema i only use green people altough expensive, there products are very concentrated so last a long time.
  • My children's mild eczema was exacerbated by both Soltan and Ambre Solaire sun creams last summer. Can anyone recommend a good high factor sun cream/block for eczema sufferers?

Price is not too much of a problem if the product is good, although any hints on the cheapest stockists are most welcome, of course!
Your GP practice may be gearing itself up this month for a display on kids and sun. Why not ask one of the practice nurses which sunscreen/strength will be best for your child?

All 4 of my sisters children have eczema, 2 have severe. She swears by the superdrugs own brand kids sunblock. High factor and very good price (although i'm not sure what it is).

None of them react to it at all.

A note on lanolin - not everyone is allergic to it, and of those who are it's often the chemicals that were used to obtain it that causes the reaction, so not all lanolin will cause the reaction.
If you are looking for a more natural product The Body Shop suncreams are mineral based (which also means they product as soon as their applied unlike most creams that take 20mins or so). I do think the GP is probably your best shot, but if you want to try the Body Shop cream ask instore for a sample, and they'll give you a small pot to test first. Although I am a consultant I assure you I won't gain anything from anyone trying this, lol.
Also, if you want to try any other brands it might be worth asking in store (superdrug/boots etc) if you are able to return the product if your children have a reaction to it, and perhaps emailing a few companies to ask for samples?

    Hi

There is a list available online which details the ingredients in sun creams, both my children have eczema & react differntly to various creams, it's an expensive nightmare.

Sorry my computer is being rubbish & can't open the actual PDF but the link is on this page -

    http://www.eczema.org
