I have just stocked upon NIVEA Childrens Sun Spray that is Factor 50+ and is rub proof and waterproof. It hasn't affected my son ecezma and even better its half price in Tesco at the moment :j

Its also very smooth and easy to apply and it comes in a trigger spray bottle that works at all angles,

My (very fair and sensitive skinned) children/teens will only willingly use a product called Proderm which comes in Factor 15, 20 or 30, I think. I buy the Factor30. The reason they like it is that it comes out of the can in a frothy mousse and it absorbs into the skin really easily and leaves no stickiness. They moan like mad about normal suncreams, so although it's pricey it's worth it for the quiet life!

As Savy-sue said, could be the heat rash, rather than the cream.
If your son has sensitive skin, you have to be more cautious what you put on his face than what goes on the rest of his body.
E45 do a sun cream without the well know preservative ( can't remember its long name) for very sensitive skin,in a high factor.
You may be able to get your doctor to put it on a script,or its about £10 to buy.
A wide hat, will help protect, but probably hard to keep on:D

I believe there is very little difference between sun creams once you get to factor 30 (apart from the price), but correct me if I am wrong. But would you buy a higher factor than 30 for the little ones?

I would like to know how long creams keep, opened and unopened if you can help? I am sure we had a thread about this already but cannot find it?

    Thanks in advance,

    JT x

Boots still has BOGOF on suncream I think.
    It's great in here! :)

We took Boots Kids Soltan in Factor 30 on holiday for the children. It's extra waterproof and it was easy to apply.

We bought a No-Ad Factor 45 while we were away, and that was also easy to apply. That was in a tube packaged as a baby product.

Don't buy bio-degradeable suncream. We had to use that in a natural eco-park so we didn't contaminate the water. It was sticky and horrible, and I threw the rest away after our visit.
Here I go again on my own....

    Thanks for all that.

I am going to take him to dr`s next week.

His face is puffy aand he has a rash all over, he does get a little ecezma but nothing major-just use cream from dr`s when it gets dry/red.

Yesterday i used asda spray factor 30, today he is on avon cream factor 50, but like tar-but he wanted to play out and needed to make sure he was covered.

    Will keep you posted.

Where have the thanks buttons gone?

I have eczma and I'm allergic to pretty much all suncreams. I've tried several that claim to be for sensitive skin and childrens, and they all set me off. The only thing I've found that works is P20. It's liquid and comes in a white bottle, it's rather pricey (abot £20 for a large bottle that lasts about 2 weeks) but is superb. You only need to apply it once a day and I've never burnt with it. I've been using it for about 10 years and the only problem is that you have to sit there naked or just in swimwear for half an hour after you put it on or it'll stain your clothes yellow.
There's more information about it on it's website -
