I don't have the legs for leggings but i don't want to spend loads of money on maternity clothes just for 3 months wear so i've been wearing them constantly they're sooo comfy.
However, i just wanted to say i do NOT recommend Dorothy Perkins leggings!
I always wear them with long top and long cardi, but in the garden a couple of months back i was bent over gardening when OH took a pic to show me that they went see through :rotfl: You could see the stitching in my pants underneath haha.
They probably do thicker ones but i think mine are these http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=true&catalogId=20552&storeId=12552&categoryId=176002&parent_category_rn=155405&productId=806944&langId=-10 -
And ski pants as well, I had a pair of herringbone ski-pants and I thought I was the bees knees, then the elastic started stretching on the foot, so it was half way up the ankle.
Thank you -brought a smile to my face. xx
OMG - I had a pair of those too and yes I loved them and wore them at every possible opportunity. Fortunately no photographic evidence survives....

I think the golden rule with leggings is that you should never be able to see your crotch or bum, the top should always cover that much.
If they go remotely baggy bin them.
Check there is no visible cellulite before going out.
I have a pair from primark (I'm 30) the ones intended and "hold you in" underwear, but I think they look smashing for wearing as leggings. Primark leggings were always the best back in the late eighties/early nineties.
I haven't worn mine yet as it hasn't really been cold enough to wear anything under dresses yet, but I plan to wear them under summery dresses for winter or with long tops, either with heels or ballet pumps or knee length boots.0 -

I'm scared of leggings, yet am coming round to the idea as I have two dresses that are pretty short on me (I'm 5ft 9) and they need something underneath to make super-sure that nobody will see my pants!
I'm size 16 and have an inside leg of 32", so where might I want to go for full-length leggings? I was looking at American Apparel, but they're crazy expensive, not full-length, and I'm not a big fan anyway. Are they like tights in that you often get what you pay for?0 -

Mippy have you tried the high street tall sections?? New Look and Topshop seem to have good ranges in each, and there are usually leggings if you just wanted standard black ones.0 -

The "tall" New Look ones are just about OK on me and I have an inside leg measurement of 35"!0 -

I think it looks as if they are here to stay for the Autumn/ Winter at least, so I would prob buy another pair or two. Ironically the best leggings I have are £1.50 ones from Primark. They still have all their stretch left in them and just keep on going, much better than my expensive marks and sparks ones! Though Primarni is very hit and miss, and maybe I had a 'lucky batch' Lol! I have yet to find any that rival them and I have looked at many different price ranges! Though ommited to look at the hideously overpriced 'top of the range' £400 a pair leggings somebody suggested on the last thread about leggings! Seriously makes me feel a bit queasy thinking about that amount of money on any item of clothing but least of all leggings!
That was ME who suggested them!
My way of thinking is that if you love something, and know you're going to wear it a lot, then why not buy the best you can afford, instead of 20 cheap immitations?
For example, MY leggings cost me £120. Fine, its a lot of money. BUT, in spending £120 I know Im going to get my wear out of them. I could have bought 12 different pairs of £10 leggings, and then got them home, and found they bagged at the knee, faded, etc.... So instead of wasting my money on 'throwaway' goods, I save it up, and buy the best quality. You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
*I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*0 -

i agree, although im not really into fashion as such,, i like to look a bit fasionable and casual at the same time IYSWIM, im not really bothered about where i get my clothes from as i have never had ani issues with them,,,,, BUT,,,,
im the same with DD shoes, i got her a pair of clarks £34 for school (which i dont think is massivly expensive) and they last the WHOLE year provided she doesnt grow out of them. the quality is fantastic and id rather pay that than have to buy 4 or 5 pairs through out the year which have fallen apart.
(dd has a tendancy to scrape her feet along the floor as she walks and can trip over thin air leading to numerous scuffs)0
