  • I remember wearing white tights under a pair of denim cutoff shorts as a teenager :o and an adult commenting that it wasn't a particularly good idea! I was always a little outrageous in my fashion though - my daughter has the same interesting tastes :rotfl: (I was a very skinny size 8 though, as is my DD now)

I bought black leggings from Primark but I won't be wearing them, they don't stay up for more than 5 minutes

Ooooh just go onto this this thread, takes me back a few years (and a few lbs!!) was a time I could wear this stuff and not bat an eye - now - I am deffinately taking on board comments and advice. As a major hoarder, of olympic standard, I just may have have som leggings stored away. Will check and report later. ;)
I used to have multi coloured ones, denim and of course the black ones.

Ahhh those were the days when I had confidence, long glossy hair and possibly no fashion sense at all but I didn't care.:rotfl:

Yes - still in its packet! a pair of thick black leggings. Nowthat's what I call being prepared!! Now if only I could get back into my size 10 posh afgan coat!!
[STRIKE]Fed up of being kippered by kids - new resolve - the NO word. Still at this[/STRIKE] Dam they struck again!!
Stay focused on the bigger plan -
  • An Afghan coat? You must be about my age, then. I'd dust it off and try to sell it, they're collectors items now. I wish I still had my fringed waistcoat: I have much younger chums who love all that hippy stuff I used to wear as a youngster.

So are Top Shop the best for thickness then? I looked at some in Next at the weekend and they were a bit on the flimsy side for me!
  • I am so jealous, leggings sound fantastic with what everyone is wearing. However, since I'm on a no spend challenge, I'm going to ask dd1 if I can try hers on. I need a nice outfit for a special night out friday, and I have a shortish (above knee) dress which might look fab, with leggings, tucked into boots.

Since I'm not buying anything new I'm trying out lots of different looks when normally I would have just bought something new.

Saving money & a new look, I'm on to a winner!!!
    Thanks all

PS Thats always assuming the outfir doesn't look crap!

Hi there BitterAndTwisted - you must be in the 21+ bracket then:rotfl:

Been through a couple of fashion faux pas in my time. One that sticks out was when wearing tinkly bells was in.

Didn't have the little bell - so pinched my mothers brass bell off the mantle piece. I sounded more like 'bring out your dead' than love and peace.:o

Then there was the big bouncy curls I wanted, like Rula Lenska - turned out like Bride of Frankinstein with her fingers in a socket. I have NEVER had a perm since. It took 5 months to grow it long enough to have it all cut off. My hair was about an inch and a half long. Lesson learned!!

I absolutely love this. Can imagine your bell tolling as you strolled down the street! The things we do for fashion! :rotfl:

Absolutely fantastic until this lot get you:rotfl:

A coach driver is transporting a group of blind kids back from a school trip. It's a hot summer's day and he decides to stop for a break at a country pub. As the blind kids get out the coach he notices them carrying a football. "How are you gonna play football? You're blind", he enquires. "Oh we've got a special football with a bell in it", says one of the kids, "Go and have a drink, we'll be fine!"
Slighty amused, the driver goes into the pub, gets a drink, and sits down to read the paper. Some time passes and a police officer enters.
"Who's in charge of those blind kids outside?" asks the officer.
"I am officer, is there a problem?" "A problem!? They've just kicked a morris dancer to death"
Who I am is not important. What I do is.
