Heth wrote:I've got 3 egg whites from Friday that I want to use up (assuming they are still ok).
Any ideas what to do with them? I could put them in an omlette but am not very inspired by that, or make meringue.
If I made meringue though would the meringue keep till the weekend? we don't really have puddings in the week.
Hi, you can use egg whites for glue instead of using cellotape if your pushed.
I know that sounds a bit extravegant ,but if you have some old left over egg whites, thats one way of using it up.20p savers club

Meringue? I think you can freeze them. I'll see if there's anything on this already.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

make brown sugar meringues! much easier and yummier than ordinary meringues!!!
2oz (50g) soft brown sugar for every egg white
whisk whites till stiff ie, you can hold bowl upside down without them falling out onto your head!
Carefully whisk in sugar approx 2 tablespoons full at a time till all used
Spoon onto baking sheet pref covered in non-stick baking parchment in egg sized amounts
bake 90-100 c for 2-3 hrs
lovely sandwhiched together with cream or ice cream
will keep for a couple of weeks if stored in air tight container
Kids loooooove them so do grown ups!!!Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Whisk up, add some sugar, shape (pipe them?), put them in a very low oven for about 3 hours and make meringue nests. Fill with summer fruit and top with a little cream. Mmmm!"Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0

Make meringue! Whip up the egg whites until stiff, fold in icing sugar, bake. Sure you can google quite a few recipes for basic meringue!0

Pavlova! Much better than meringue imho. All you need is egg whites, cornflower, sugar and a bit of vinegar. I'll see if I can find the recipe.0
