Welcome Laura and one winged angel.
Thriflady - happy 101st birthday to your granny!
Was others I was going to mention to, but as per usual they've gone out of my head as soon as I clicked on the reply button!
Had a nice day visiting a friend of mine, and went out for lunch. Got nothing done at home, but never mind! She also gave me a bag of carrots that a chap from the allotment she parks near on the school run had given her, so that was a bonus!
Back to work tomorrow, but at least its my short week, so have the weekend off.
Enjoy whats left of today.0 -
lillibet_dripping wrote: »P.S. Lamewolf - how was your trip last Sunday. I went on the website and checked them out. I would love to visit as I am very into Jan Fennell's method of 'dog training' which is based on the wolf pack behaviour.
I was totally shattered yesterday, after all that; didn't do a thing. Back to fairly near "normal" today - have made bread rolls, apple pie and Birsay biscuits, which has taken me all day to do.
Had a letter from the hossy this morning; they want to muck around with my meds again; so goodness knows how I shall cope with that. They reckon the dose of Plaquenil I'm on risks damaging my eyes so I have to go down to half the amount. Personally I reckon it's a cost-saving exercise, but nothing I can do about it.Can't get them to take the bone-wrenching fatigue seriously. Oh well, I guess I'll end up living on strong black coffee, to try and keep awake long enough to get anything done.
 I wouldn't mind so much, but I can't sleep at night - almost as if I'm too tired to sleep, iyswim.
Argh - enough of my problems! I see we have some new friends posting - welcome!
And Taplady - a (((HUG))) for you.
((((HUGS)))) also for anyone else who wants/needs one today.
Very sad about Patrick Swayze and Keith Floyd - 57 and 65 respectively; that's no age at all, really. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon.
Would anyone like a nearly 4 year old little boy? I left mine a nursery this afternoon and he's been replaced by the devil
He's shrieking, shouting and generally being a pain - I thought school was supposed to wear him out no make him hyper
Had a busy but NSD day :T Took kids to the park for an hour and made some Millies style cookies this morning (now just have to limit the number I eat) and this afternoon I made some garlic and coriander tortillas to go with our curry tonight and cajun chicken that's planned for Saturday eve. House stinks of garlic though
DG - sorry your procedure didn't happen.
Pippa - congrats on DGS and hugs to you for missing your friend xx
One Winged Angel - welcome :jI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Guys!
Thanks for all the well wishes for hospital visits. They mean alot when I dont feel very strong atm.
JackieO-I am lucky that OH and DD help me a lot and I am great at delegating:D You are very organised and I love reading what food you have left in your freezer and how far you've stretched your food. I have always had loads of admiration for you.
Have a friend coming over later to take away a bag of clothes/shoes and some kitchen stuff I dont want or need anymore. Their DD has just moved to her own place, so using the bits for her.
Wrapped a couple of pressies this afternoon for a mates anniversary later this week. In my pressy cupboard I had bought a Crystal vase from the Tesco Finest range in the sale for £4 and is all gift boxed and looks very posh. Also had a card from M&S (20p) and a box of M&S biscuits (£2) from the outlet..so under £7:j:j:j:j
Will sort out a load to be put on timer for the morning in the WM later and that should finish for 7am and can be hung or put in the TD. We have just moved utility companies and our DD has dropped to £110pm, so can fford the odd TD being on.
DD is on a half day tomorrow, so after the hospital we might do something....I have something to take back and we need to fill the car up before the voucher runs out tomorrow evening. Also have a voucher for a crate of beer for £5. OH doesnt drink much beer but handy when others come over or we go to others.
I am not sure whether to do the doube of beef recipe on saturday or sunday? It should freeze ok shouldnt it? There is 3 of us, so I am hoping that it will do 3-4 meals as its not a cheap recipe but does look and sound delish. Will do colcannon with it.
Anyway, I am rambling. Hope evryone is well.

Afternoon all, and a warm welcome to new posters
Well, we had a lovely - although a very tiring day at our Italian event. Everyone bought food so the children could have a taste, and we ended up with 8 tiramisus!!!!!!!!!:D
There was some lovely stuff, and I particularly enjoyed the amaretti biscuits and chocolate salami, neither of which I had tried before. Of course, there were some savories there, but I have a very sweet tooth at the moment
Apart from the food tasting, there was some educational stuff to fit in and the eruption of vesuvius at the end went particularly well
Back home, and although I'm exhausted, there is some stuff to be done, at the very least I need to get the WM going. DDs have now gone out with friends so I have a couple of hours to do it - and of course the obligatory getting absorbed in mse!
Hugs taplady, and all those affected by someone's passing at the moment. I didn't hear about Patrick Swayze and Keith Floyd until I logged on here

Thriftlady 101 wow , Happy birthday to your gran
Donny  how annoying for you, hope it gets sorted soon
Taplady hugs to you xx
The viewing today seemed to go well, and she is coming back with her sister on saturday for a second look :T
I made four quiches, 2 veggie, and 2 with bacon, and some jam tarts with the left over pastry and hm jam.
The jacket spuds are in the oven, quiches cooked, so just the salad to do. Think I will have an early night i am shattered, due to OH making strange noises in his sleep last night0 -
Welcome to Laura and onewingedangel :hello:
Hope they buy the house Ruby
Thinking of you Taplady. x
Hope you get it sorted soon DG. x
Have been a bit ill today so mostly confined to bed but still managed some osiness in the form of filing paperwork and cutting out recipes, knitting patterns, craft projects and house design ideas from 3 years worth of magazines which are now ready for the recycling bin. :j
Also managed a spot of knitting and 2 weeks meal plans.
Last night's shepherd's pie was so huge that it did tonight too with lo cauliflower cheese and it was lovely to have a night off from the kitchen.
Girls are in the bath now and when they're out they will help me with the kitchen and lunches. OH is still working so I'm planning a night in bed with the TV and my knitting. I know how to live it up I do.

lillibet dripping - What are 'floddies' please?
Sorry to hear about your medication troubles, LameWolf. Not quite the same thing, I know, but I'm on medication which makes me so tired in the mornings and I too hit the coffee hard!
Chocolate salami, pipkin71? Who would have thought it?
Hope you can catch up on your sleep, redruby. Was DH having strange dreams, d'you think?
I've had dinner from the freezer and am about to settle down with my knitting and a podcast. I'm expecting a phone call this evening so hope it happens soon!

I didn't like the sound of it when the mum said what she was bringing to the event Laura, but it was really nice. So nice, when I went back for more, it had all gone :D
Here's a recipe if anyone fancies giving it a go
