Good morning/afternoon, all! :hello: Sorry I can't remember each and every name yet, but I am reading all your posts with great interest!

Tuba Day at school today so once again dragged myself out of the house and into the car to take the kids to school. I don't much approve of them not walking but even I can barely lift the tuba, so car it has to be. Have decided though that if I have to do this run twice a week then I'll do the shopping on the return leg, rather than take the car out on a seperate journey.

So I went up to Asda to buy one of their £7 slow cookers and get myself a new washing up bowl. Mysteriously washing up bowls were either £1.97 or two for £3. Who needs two washing up bowls??? Actually when I thought of it I needed a new one for the camping kit too so that was duely purchased. Then I went to M&S to but a birthday card for a party DD is going to on Friday. M&S do really good cards for £1, much cheaper than most places. I always buy cards there. I also spotted yet another pair of the plain black trousers for £3, so got these too.

Came home, made soup, marinaded some pork chops for tonight's tea and prepped up lots of yesterday's allotment veg for the freezer. Next job was to clean down all the hall paintwork with the newly purchased Stardrops, but then got distracted by starting to sort out all my half finished bottles of cleaning products. Don't know about anyone else but I quite often forget I've not finished something and get more...then I have two half bottles, urgh. So I decided to sort that out....

...which has led to a major reshuffle of the walk in cupboard where I keep all my cleaners, pet food, hoover, lightbulbs, jamjars etc etc etc. Still have an impressive collection of 1p lightbulbs from last year but need more hoover bags!

Anyway...I'm going to finish that then have my lunch, then I'll go and hoover the stairs so that I can wash them and the paintwork down at the same time tomorrow. By which time DD will be home I expect. I'm not one of these super-speedy housewives, oh no!

Been MIA for a few days again, so havent caught up yet will do later :D

We were in court yesterday for the adoption hearing and for the papers to be signed, and I am happy to report he is officially our new DGS :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j there were so many people who turned up, the judge said she had never seen so many people in her court. DGS was as good as gold until he fell off the judges chair and cut his lip, he was soon ok though. We all went out for a meal afterwards....so no OS day for me.....

Just had burger for lunch havent had one for ages and really enjoyed it,
Dinner is whatever is in the freezer, with left over veg.

I really must get myself sorted tomorrow, need to do the washing and there is a basket of ironing that keeps shouting at me:rolleyes:

Off for a quick read through while I drink my coffee

Weclome to the newbies.. Just a quick post to anyone who might be trying to pm me. I have a stuffed inbox due to my not wanting to get rid of a fee psm sent to me by the esteemed Mr Lewis a while back . Please be patient and I will work through the string of recent ones sent and delate as required..

Hope you all have a lovely day. It's chucking it down here but determined to make the most of it.. Gonna see an amdram version of "Arsenic Ad Old Lace" tonight. Hope it's good cos for amateur theatre I'd say £8 per ticket is quite dear... I love the film so at least I know the plot is good.

    *******:mad::confused::eek: RANT ALERT:eek::mad:********

Got the hospital, surgeon looked at lump, and said sorry that bone not a cyst, you need an x-ray and then referring to plastic surgeon.

Now this started over 20 years ago, when I reported said lump to Dr. who said, did it hurt, only when I touch it was my reply, and his response, you guessed it then don't touch it then.

Eventually got bigger so went to see a GP at the practice in January, oh you need to come in to the Day Surgery Unit, make an appointment, this was for February, got cancelled and re-issued for end-March, got tied up in Spain eventually saw my own GP at Day Surgery in late April, Oh it's on your head, I will scar you I am not that good I will have to refer you to the Hospital. Hospital Appointment in June, saw the Consultant, oh yes no problem, we will make you an appointment, I have put it off until now so that I am here and can then go travelling again, now I have to wait until the x-ray department sent a report to the guy I saw today, who then has to refer me to the Plastic Surgeon, and then wait for an appointment. I don't think so, they can wait until I come back now. I wsouldn't mind but I know it doesn't move and checked it with the Consultant, who was a old locum, the one today was young and nice, but only saw him for 2 mins.

taplady - special hug for you today x

It has been 2 weeks now since she died but I still keep expecting my friend to turn up, I wonder will I ever get used to her not being here, I feel so sad every time I think of her she was such a good friend to a lot of people :A

It is so sad to hear of the death of Patrick Swayze I loved his films, Dirty Dancing and Ghost were my favourites.
Keith Floyd has died today as well, he was the most eccentric and most travelled chef of them all I think.

Oh has come in he wants a :coffee: so I will go make us both one.
    Have good evenings all

  • Looby_Lou - Hope you enjoy your quilting. Do you have pix of your creations? I'd be really interested to see. Knitting is my craft at the moment but I've not got much beyond blankies!

bargainbird - LOLs re tackle comments! Hope you get on OK at the ENT. My sister went for snoring problems and they really helped her.

    Congratulations on DGS's adoption, Pippa.S!

Hope you enjoy Arsenic & Old Lace, Reverbe. That's the first AmDram I was every involve in - I was Mistress of Properties :)

What a saga, donny-gal - I do hope you can get it sorted soon though.

I've had a good day so far. Did go out for the groceries and the paying of the garage but seem to have become side-tracked by computer instead of getting on with my knitting project! Got to go out now to feed nine kittens (aaaw) and then it's dinner time ...

Just got back from school. My year 4's really enjoyed their WWII potato cakes and potato floddies.
Also, I cheated with the Danish apple cake for our pud. I took the apple to school and made it during my lunch hour so we WILL have pud for tea even though I don't feel like cooking now! I have got a potato and onion layer cake in the 'moska and will pop the chops on the rack on top later. Sorted:T
Pippa - lovely news about DGS:T
Essexgirl - are you Burnham way? ('on Crouch, with hyphens' says Ray Clark on BBC Essex:rotfl:)
Donnygal - you rant away love!
    Taplady - thinking of you

Sad to hear about Keith Floyd - he is one of my favourite chefs. I have most of his books and still watch his programmes on Sky. A great loss.

Going on the school run now.
    Have a lovely evening
