  • reading back through this topic I found this

"Check that everything plugged into a phone socket is filtered (phones, sky box, alarm, ringer, etc.)"

I completely forgot about the sky and i just went and checked and it doesnt have a filter. Luckily I've got a few spare filters. First I am going to do the ringwire though. Does it matter if i actually cut the wires with scissors? (bit late since I already have with two of the others but no the master).

Then I will see what happens

We also have an alarm but I don't know if this is filtered because I don't know where it connects to the phone line?

You only need to remove the bell wire (terminal 3) at the master socket!

The alarm may be causing a problem if it reports back every 10 minutes - more info required.

  • whoops, I followed that guide linked previosly and it said 'Remember, only wires 2 and 5 need to be connected in all sockets you have'.

It's still working though lol. I don't know what to do about the alarm yet.

Removing wire #3 (or the others apart from #2 and #5) at the extensions does no harm it is just not necessary for the reason I mentioned before - they go nowhere at that end with a filter fitted
