  • Hi Ben

What did they say about your eyes? Was it too high astigmatism?

You should consider going to another clinic for a second opinion

It was Optical Express. They took scans which showed the curve to my eyes and it wasnt smooth, big dip at the bottom and two spots towards the top

I'm gonna go have consultations at Ultralase and Optimax too.

Yeah id get a 2nd opinion if one of them does say your ok id question them on the matter and even perhaps tell them you were declined laser treatment from other clinics, just so they double and triple check things again.....

    Keep us updated :j

    Well I did it!
Had Lasik with Wavefront today at Optical Express.
In view of my great age I will need reading glasses which I knew about. I'm still a bit blurry but I can see the TV!! Tomorrow I will get a pair of reading glasses - really funky ones!

Thanks RP2X I keep fumbling around trying to push my non existant distance glasses up my nose. The new reading glasse feel really strange.

Eyes feel good today though and I'm cleared to drive. Yippee!

  • Well done magic 57!

Really pleased for you - it will feel weird having to use reading glasses but def beats having to walk round with your glasses on!

    Optimax...

I want to book a consultation with optimax but you have to pay a £30 deposit. I know you get it back if you're unsuitable, but what if I am suitable but choose to go with a different company? Will I get it back?

Just spoke to Ultralase and they charge £50 deposit, returned on the same theory above....
