Well it may depend on area you live in but I was quoted nearly 3.5K for Lasik with wavefront, was given a pretty hard sell (This was in brighton), was made to feel quite awful when I said I needed to go away and think about it. This was 3 weeks ago and no-one has bothered to call up (although I have had an apology email from Head Office as I did complain about the saleperson)...put me off using Optical Express0

Had my 2 month checkup about 2 weeks ago and yeah 20/20 in both eyes can see the bottom line of chart, this was with optimax in finchley with lasek op.
So another success story0 -
Hi
I'm hoping Simon Young may be around and can help with this question.
I had my Lasik surgery done with Optical Express in late October. At my one week check up my distance vision was brilliant and I could read right to the bottom of the chart. However 7 weeks post op it is certainly not nearly as good as when I was wearing glasses. I had a check up last wednesday and they are much worse than my one week check. The optican said they were a bit dry and gave me some more eye drops. I have to go back in another month.
Has anyone else had a similar experience. I was expecting them to be blurry at first then get gradually better, not the other way round!0 -

The sight wasn't as good and was panicking but didn't want to upset anyone who cared for me but was bricking it. Just kept putting the drops in and it calmed down. All good now. The surgeon was amazing and said if it deteriorated they would operate again.
Thank you. I'm so glad all is well for you now. I've heard that they can do an enhancement if needed but I doubt that I'd go through with that as I was scared enough having it done the first time!
I'll certainly continue with the drops and will keep my fingers crossed that mine works out ok too.0 -
Been collecting Tesco points like mad over the last year or so to put toward a Optimax laser eye surgery, but everything has conspired against me recently. Had to 'cash-in' the points to vouchers this month to avoid losing a quarter of their value, now have just been to Optimax and been told my vision has changed dramatically (0.5 in both eyes) since my last check-up less than 3 months ago.
Don't think there's any point getting the surgery done now if my eyes are still potentially changing, but I'm stuck with GBP600 of Optimax vouchers in my name that expire in June. Aargh! What do I do?0 -

Not sure how tesco vouchers work but can you not contact them and switch them or extend the date in them?
Or can optimax let you transfer them into someone else's name/pay towards someone elses treatment?0 -
PM sent, thanks0

You can use the optimax voucher, but tbh its pointless cos every 3-6 months there gonna send out a letter saying half price promo offer and having your eyes done for under 2k is still gonna be better then 500 quid off/
But yeah it may still help u out depending on the surgery/type you going for...0 -
